Accidentally put this in the CPU cooling forum, but it probably belongs here:

I'm planning on doing a blowhole on the side of my Enlight 7237 as a first-try casemod, but I have a few questions, as I've seen numerous conflicting ideas:

1) What type of fan? I have nice 80mm's and some 120mm panaflos...I was going to go with a 120mm

2) In or out, and where placed - over the CPU? Lowering CPU temp is my goal, but overall, I think the case is too hot. I'm using a Slot1 mobo, but with an Alpha PEP66, so the air from the hs/fan is pointed towards the side of the case (the side I'm putting the fan), not towards the front bezel like usual.

I'm thinking that pointing it out, and right over the PEP66 makes the most sense.

I know all about cfm's ins/outs, etc, and I'll make sure I have an equal amount in and out, I'm just verifying the above with all of you experts.
Surely someone has a similar rig.

I'm going to be doing the same thing to my case soon. I'll have a 120mm intake in the lower front, 80mm or 92mm exhaust by the motherboard's I/Os, a 120mm exhaust blowing staright out the top, and two 120's blowing in over the PCI/AGP slots and CPU. As for your questions, fan size is up to you. Look around and try to find a nice mix of noise and cfm. That's why I like 120's, they move alot of air without alot of noise. Most people have their side blowholes pulling air in to cool the cards and CPU. This is all just my opinion though, so take it with a grain of salt.

yes - in my other post, an intake was recommended for the side fan, but my logic is that the PEP66 is really pumping air (it has a blacklabel delta fan), and I thought getting it out of the case immediately would be easily done by placing a 120mm directly over it (the PEP66 points towards the side of the case, not the front like most slot1 hs/fans).

Anyone else?

Perhaps placing a 60mm, the same size as the CPUfan just above it sucking out, and then placing the 120 more towards the PCI slots blowing in?

i don't remember if the PEP is enclosed, but if it isn't and the fins have direct space for air to move, then you will probably have the most effective setup turning your delta HSF fan around to inatke and adding a 120 fan directly over it... i have a similar setup where i have a LP sunon 120mm over my FOP38... works well!

The PEP66 for Slotkets is built at a 90-degree angle, so I don't think turning the delta fan around would help it.
