Ok, I have done a lot with systems, but am a virgin when it comes to chipset cooling.

I have an Epox 8KHA and the stock mobo chipset fan makes LOUD noise for the first 8 minutes or so and then settles down. Epox is sending me a replacement. Anyway, the question---> How loud is a Blorb? Should I get a Blorb instead of the replacement stock fan that is on the way?

Which one would be quiter?

Thanks!:)

Yeah, the Blorb is 26dB, which is pretty quiet. Some Blorbs are quite a bit louder than others, for some reason, but they're generally pretty quiet. The stock setup should work fine for you unless you plan on doing FSB overclocking, in which case you should definitely upgrade to the Blorb (or better).

Sundog find a used Chrome orb or S orb and use the fan for that on your Blorb. It fits perfectly and there's an 85% cfm increase.

Or just toss the fan, get the passive Zalman chipset heatsink from 2cooltek- dead silent, you'll never have to fuss with it ever again. Or one of the small sinks from 1coolpc, if you already have thermal epoxy...

Chipset fans slurpeth, great marketing gimmick, though....

Don't get the blue orb. Thermaltake uses the cheapest fans that work fine for a while, but then they get loud and vibrate a lot. That's what happened to my Blue Orb after only 4 months of using it.
