I've got 2 research protocols and IRBs waiting for review by my PI that received tenure two days ago. I'm not doing any GD more work until I get some attention. Plus my desk is a mess so I might as well surf.

You sound like my sister-in-law. She's a Biosafety Officer at an NIH funded facility, always talking (often complaining) about IRBs and research protocols and PI's. She did this in the military for many years (Ft. Detrick and others) before retiring and moving to the public sector (working on a second pension).
