blogs for project management?

not a new idea, but i was wondering if anyone has tried it.

i want to keep not only a day to day journal of my projects, but to share it to other networked members of my group so they could comment on stuff as well.

the projects i will be working on are system/network related so i thought posting in the networking forum would get replies from the right crowd.

thanks!

Although this isn't the best forum (software and apps would have been better) basically what you are wanting is a blog. Blogs are designed for any type of thought that is either reoccurring or updated regularly. I use a blog on my space to keep people up to date with my website updates and to see if anyone has ideas. So the idea is actual common and probably already used everyday.

Most Real Programmers I know would not find using a web based tool to write journals to be a high priority.

Wordpress is an awesome blogging tool. You could also use something like vBulletin, phpBB, or YaBB bulletin boards for this. Bulletin boards would probably work better if you're expecting heavy feedback for each post.

I would use basecamp. It's free for a single "project" and inexpensive for multiple projects. I've used it for web development, and a newspaper I work at uses it for online discussion for their board and managers.
