Blogging is no joke..

Not sure how everyone is familiar with Michael Arrington and Techcrunch, which is the authority of covering startups and web 2.0 in general..and in any normal world you'd think he'd live his life relatively low key, but not so much.

Yesterday as I was leaving the DLD Conference in Munich, Germany someone walked up to me and quite deliberately spat in my face. Before I even understood what was happening, he veered off into the crowd, just another dark head in a dark suit. People around me stared, then looked away and continued their conversation.

...

Something very few people know: last year over the summer an off balance individual threatened to kill me and my family. He wasn?t very stealthy about it - he called our office number, sent me emails and even posted threats on his blog, so it wasn?t hard to determine who he was. The threats were, in the opinion of security experts we consulted, serious. The individual has a felony record and owns a gun. Police in three states became involved and we hired a personal security team to protect me, my family and TechCrunch employees.

The internet is a really awful, terrible place where hate is all too easy and prominent, and it's unfortunate that crazies everywhere can ruin the experience for so many others.

Been there, done that. When you have opinion that is contrary to popular belief, you tend to get negative vibes.

The solution is to keep it to yourself. 🙂

Wait, wut? How do you have a felony record and still have a gun permit?

There is a difference between owning a gun and having a permit.

Man if somebody spit in my face I'd chase em the fuck down. I have a serious aversion to spit, I'd rather have them sock me in my jaw, haha.

It's America. Anyone can own a gun.

Pretty sad he had to go through all that crap though. guess it shows it's good to use whois protection... I should probably consider it but I have too many domains lol. Would cost a lot. There's lot of whackos out there.
