i've been looking to get a t-mobile prepaid phone recently but i've noticed that they charge for text messages. i do not plan to text anyone however, but being 18, i predict that my friends might text me. is there any way to block all incoming text messages so i dont get charged for these?

I dont know about prepaid service, but most carriers can block incomming texts. Be aware that if you do this, it may block the free texts that tmobile sends you to let you know your minutes are expireing or your balance is low.

I had a friend that tried to call the person that was stalking her at work to stop texting her, and he didn't stop at all.

I just told her if it kept up talk to the phone company, or call the police and file a complaint for harrasement or something. Not that you would want to do that to your friends. But tell them if they start texting you you'll be coming to them for the money they owe you.

I recently found out that Tmobile can turn off your text messages. Granted they seem to have done it by accident after turning off my call forwarding, I now know the feature is there ;) And yes, any free messages you may find useful from T-Mobile will also not be received.
