Blocking Internet Explorer/Removing Spamware

I recently got a bug where popups randomly show up in IE. The thing is, I never, EVER use IE, I use Chrome and Firefox. I've run a couple virus scans and tried pinning down the trouble-program by hand, but can't get the popups to go away. I've figured out which processes Rcacea.exe, Rjh.exe, and Rji.exe, all started by the product "Golds") are generating the pop-ups, but killing them only removes the problem for a few minutes. As a temporary fix, I'm looking for a way to prevent any programs from accessing IE without actually un-installing IE, as un-installing IE would most likely result in a "Program not found" error message everytime the program tries to generate a pop-up. Any suggestions? (also, if anyone happens to know which programs are starting these processes, I'd love to know so I could un-install them.

Thanks
~Nhoj.
