Blockhead Recharge Kit broke my Rockband guitar!

So, I go to bestbuy yesterday and pick up the Blockhead recharge battery kit for wireless rockband guitars. I charge it up and attempt to put in my wireless rockbanf guitar and notice that the battery contact springs in the guitar are being squashed by the rechargable battery! So I am attempting to remove the battery that is supposedly made for this guitar and the 2 contact springs break off my guitar! I also noticed that the polarity on the battery is reverse to what the guitar has. I emailed Datel and chewed them out and will be getting a refund for the battery in a little bit. BUT, I am pissed off that this product broke my springs. Should I make a big stink to the BB manager saying I have spent loads of money here and demand a replacment guitar from BB, or do I just chalk it up to a POS made in china item and just try and solder back the springs?

Anyway, for those of you who have been looking for a rechargable battery pack for your Rockband guitars, stay away from Blockeheads Roxygen Pack Recharge Kit for Rockband.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you just use AA batteries? Same thing w/ Xbox controller and Wii remote, they accept AA batteries, but people go out of their way to buy special recharge kits. Buy a pack of eneloop batteries and call it a day. But that's just me.

Or couldn't you get rechargeable AAs and a recharging stand for AAs?

Again, yes, I have tons of em. Thought the pack would be cool as I can use the usb charger anywhere and use it.

Just letting people know that this product is bad.

Is there only 1 way/direction to fit the battery pack in?

If not, then I was assume you put the battery in backwards (hence reverse polarity) and b/c of that it was not fitting right causing broken springs. If that were the case, then it is user error on your part.

But if there's only 1 way, then forget what I said.

There is only one way, the springs on the guitar got stuck in the packs metal clips and when I tried to remove it rippied the springs out. Then I also noticed the polarity on the pack was reversed. I too the spring from my wired RB guitar and fitted them into the wireless so at least I have a working wireless RB guitar again. Took it back to BB and the manager looked at his stock and looked at the guitar they had there and all the pack were made wrong and he took them off the shelf. Also got refunded for the pack.

I also bought this yesterday. I have both RB1 and RB2 wireless guitars, and the RB2 wireless drums. This thing is advertised to support "Rock Band guitars and Rock Band wireless drums." It DOES work for the RB1 Strat, but it has two batteries side-by-side pointing the same direction, like the RB1 Strat, but the RB2 Strat and wireless drums have all three alternating (so the 1st and 3rd point the same way, not the 2nd and 3rd).

I'll be taking this back to Best Buy next week and also demanding that they take it off the shelf until they fix the packaging. If it had said it works for the RB1 Strat, I would have no problem, but I bought it for my new guitar and drums, which it clearly cannot work for. It seems Blockhead is deadset on making crap accessories to make a few bucks (see Rhythm Maker pedal)

Well, Datel finally got back to me somewhat. They issued This in an email. Sent them a response as to how long it took them to issue this. Still waiting to see that happpens.

I hate to sidestep and I can appreciate your frustration, but as mentioned, anybody else reading this should look at rechargeables. Walmart was selling 4 AA (guitars take AA, controller takes AAA) rechargeables for $5.97. They were not the long-charge ones, but those can be about $10 for a pack of 4. Alternatively $5.97 bought a charger and two batteries. Eneloops or rayovac hybrid batteries are fantastic, I bet you'd get dozens of hours out of a charge in one of these Xbox controllers
