In the customized tool, the selected categories still show up. FYI.

Maybe a better solution is to put all the unused categories on the bottom of the list so the more useful forums are at the top.

Nope works fine here. I don't think you understand it is the problem. In customize the complete list will always be there as you will need to unblock things as well :). If I go to the front page the blocked categories are blocked just like they are SUPPOSED to :).

I see I see. BUT! The category listings in the drop down box on the upper right still shows all the categories. I didnt know that the customized categories only reflect on the main page. But what I meant was the listings in the drop down box.

I have what's probably a really stupid question...how do you select categories to not show that aren't next to each other without selecting the categories in between? For instance, let's say I don't want to see Anandtech Articles, Anandtech News, and Peripherals. In the listing, Anandtech Articles and Anandtech News are next to each other, but Peripherals is 10 down from them. How can I pick all 3? Either it's something simple or it's "you can't," either way I'm fine, just curious is all.

I think you just need to learn how to make multiple selections which can be applied to anything else involving selections in windows.

In the customize page, there's a list of all the categories that you can block. To select multiple options, hold down the CTRL key and start clicking on the options you want. If you wanted to select a group of options that are all listed consecutively, then select the first option, hold down the SHIFT key, and then select the last option. If you still have more options to choose after that, use the CTRL key to select individual items.

I figured it was something I was too stupid to know. I knew about holding down shift to select multiple items, but I didn't know about the ctrl thing. Thanks.
