Blockbuster unlimeted dvds 9.99 first month

Saw a few Blockbuster threads but none about this specifically. For 9.99 (14.99 after first month) you get to rent as many videos as you can lug but only one at a time. I signed up for 14.99 (19.99 after first month) for two at a time. I plan to go twice per day. You can cancel anytime but need a cc to sign up. Seriously considering cancelling my satellite subscription.

So only one movie at a time? I guess it's good for those that have tons of time to watch movies. Prolly not as hot for those that watch maybe 1-2 movies a week if that.

Better check your TOS.

The Blockbuster where I live (Doylestown, Pa) has this and I was all excited at first but you can only rent certain selected movies with it, not the entire stock, and certainly not many if not most of the new arrivals.

Signed up about a week ago, and I've been able to check out quite a few movies, both new and old. It's bit more than Netflix online, but its more convenient for me since I pass by the BB everyday anyway. I can go through a couple of movies in a 2-3 days and not have to wait for anything to arrive in the mail, I can just drive 5 minutes to the store.

Are there any restrictions on which movies you can rent at your store?

I tried this. They were SLOW AS HELL compared to my Netflix account.

Granted, Netflix seems to be slowing down, but it took BB nearly 2 weeks to get me 2 movies! PATHETIC!

I like Netflix's selection better too 🙂 Just my 2 pence!

This deal is in-store exclusively. You drive, you choose, you conquer.

I like the in store coupons cause they let me rent games or movies

Games are almost 7 bucks with tax so 2 game rentals a month pays for the membership fee

Has anyone notice BB has slowed their system? I used to send in a movie and it would get there the next day and they would send it back the next day

Not as far as I can see. The only restriction they told me about was that I can only return and pick up movies at the store I signed up at. I haven't had any problem renting any of the DVDs yet.

Some of you people keep talking about this service as if it's the online rental service and compare it to Netflix. Stop it. It is not the online service. This is the in-store movie pass.

I tried this deal already last month and I am cancelling it now. You can't find any good movie you want to watch because people keeps their movie for a long time without return it (no late fee phenomenon, I tell you). One particular case that my daughter had to come back many times in TWO weeks to finally get the movie Village. Same with Mullan 2 and many other good titles. The only one you can get is those no one want to watch or old titles.

Or maybe I live in a bad neighborhood?

I guess this is better in places with high traffic. I have been renting four movies a day since I started. I paid 15 for the fist month but it will go up to 20 a mont. There have been no restrictions on what I can rent. I've gotten mostly new releases to begin with including the red boxed "two day" rentals. i noticed some of the older movies I might wanna borrow are out but with the whole store to choose from it will take me a while to get to those anyway. Rented Secret Window, Shark Tale, Spiderman 2 and Freeway today alone. I also cacelled my satellite subscription and even with 2 out at a time I'm saving $17 a month.

It must be a franchise store, or the Rep you spoke with gave you incorrect information. I would call and ask again to see if you get the same answer, and also ask if they're a franchise store. If you have any other blockbuster's in the area, I would give them a visit if you want to try the movie pass again, since you should be allowed to rent anything in the store (besides games).

They have different priced plans for the movie pass, $9.99 trial is for one at a time, per month. The second month on bumps to $14.99.

They have a 2 at a time and a 3 at a time pass at incremental charges, $19.99/mo for 2 at a time I believe. They don't have a limitation on rentals, in theory you could rent a movie, watch it, on your portable DVD right there (or outside in your car), go back in the store rent another, repeat all day long. Same with the 2 or 3 at a time options, you can go back multiple times/day if you had time to watch them all (or just decided not to watch one).

There were no restrictions on titles of movies to rent when I used it a few months back. This was before the no late fees change/promotion so not sure how that impacts things.

The only caveat they had, and they were clear about it, was it auto-renews unless you cancel. So you have to watch your receipts for the last day of the plan and cancel a day or two before hand (they let me use the last day even after the plan was cancelled).

I'd probably do it again, at $4+tax per movie, it pays for itself very quickly. Only cost is gas/time and if you don't live that far it's a great deal.

You get two per month when you sign up for their Netflix style "3 movies @ any time by mail" deal for $14.99/month. You can get a two week free trial period and extend that by 2 weeks to an entire month by using a promo code. Search for cooper. 😉

I am confused. How many dvds do you get at 1 time?

My deal was 2 DVDs out at one time, no restriction, $14.99 before tax for the 1st month. After that, it is $24.99 including tax. Los Angeles area. I am in the 2nd month now and would be the last, for the reason described above.
