So I've been using the service for a month or so now and all the previous DVDs worked perfectly. Well today I have to sit around waiting for like 5 hours with nothing to do and i get my 3 DVDs that have come in the mail. I try the first...nothing. The second nothing also...and the third, wait...i see something on the screen and it looks promising. Oh nevermind the sound doesn't work. What are the chances of that or maybe i just suck with electronics.

I had Blockbuster for their month free long trial at 3 out at a time and I cancelled the day the trial was over! It took FOREVER to get anything through the mail with them and I received 4 wrong HD-DVD's and 3 never showed up to my house. It took in excess of 2-4 days to receive some movies... I switched over to netflix and within 1 day 99% of my movies come next day that its shipping including HD-DVD movies. Blockbuster has way less movies as a lot of the HD movies I put in my queue were very long wait and with netflix there was no wait on any of them. From my experience I would steer clear of Blockbuster online, but maybe I am those 1 in 100 that have had a bad experience with them. Or is it 1 in 10? :p

I've only had one problem in the 3 months I've had the service, Tora! Tora! Tora! would lock up at the same point in the 3 DVD players I tried it in. Other then that, I get the movies 2-3 days after I return them to BB.

I've been using Netflix for a couple years. Sometimes things happen; disks are scratched, broken, or get lost in the mail. You can try cleaning the disks with warm water and a lint free, non-abrasive cloth.

Did you try cleaning the discs? I've gotten smudged up discs from them before.

I used them for the free month. Getting movies took longer than I wanted and they didn't send me the ones at the top of my list even though the website said they were available. When i asked why, they said it wasn't available at the closest distribution center to me so they wouldn't send it because they it would take too long. I said I didn't care if it took an extra day, I put that movie as #1 because I wanted it to watch it.

The free rental when returning to the store deal was great but I had no intention of keeping it past the trial month anyway.

The 2 out per month for $5.99 is a great deal if you're not a heavy movie watcher. Get 2 in the mail, turn them back in at the store, get 2 more, and also get a free movie/game rental coupon. So that's 4 movies + 1 video game rental for us, which if done in store is about $15 to $20, for $6/month.

Never have to worry about getting throttled on deliveries either as it's only 2 movies per month.

Yeah, I am getting fed up with Blockbuster's Online Rental thing too. I used Netflix for about 8 months and switched to Blockbuster for the last 4 months or so. Blockbuster routinely takes a day extra compared to Netflix. Also, as Kelemvor said, they don't always send movies from the top of the list even if it says they are available! This is really frustrating when you are ordering TV shows and anime series that YOU HAVE TO WATCH IN ORDER (duh). Yeah, I guess their in store return thing would be nice, but the closest Blockbuster to me is 20 minutes away, so I never really use it.
