is there anything you can do if you already cancelled back then?

Sorry but out of luck.
Don't listen to mean ol' Captain Bringdown, toant103. After all, he's a self-admitted kroq!

Just called them all nice like (I had only had the one month free, long canceled) and, after some keyboard magic, the helpful CSR hooked me right back up.

Make sure to select "Downgrade my account" on the page where you select from the available subscription options. I selected "Do not change my account" first, and it didn't work.

I really haven't had a problem with their service, yet. So, even though they may not be perfect, I'll still throw away $15 and pay for another month in order to feel like I'm not ripping anyone off unfairly 🙂 However, if they had pissed me off and I was considering cancelling I would have no problems getting this deal.

My favorite is them taking away the Coming Soon category, saying that you can find titles not yet released by going into a particular category, such as drama and sorting on release date, then they stop putting future releases into ANY category altogether, saying that you can find them by typing the name in the search box!

Nothing like making it convienient for the customer!!!

All the while...they tell you that you should keep 30 or more titles in your queue so that they know what they need to stock!!!! What am I missing here???

ok well i just tried it (have free trial) and i want to make sure i did this correctly

i clicked cancel, and then "click here" to receive one month

then it asked for a "change of plan" and a reason for cancelling (same page)

then i clicked to change plan, and authorized that, and it told me that my new plan would be effective as of the day before this billing cycle ends

does that mean i got the free month?

its showing me as currently paying 0 + tax, but it says nothing about what i'm paying next month

I MUST BE blind, but i can't see the option. I clicked on free month, but there is NO option that says 1 month free!! this totally blows!

what if you're still on a trial ?

i'm still on my 1st month free trial. (about 12 days in).
If I try to cancel now, would I get an extension of another month ?

Question: my current month ends May 8th. (and I was planning to cancel anyway). If I cancel now, and get the free month, will they let my current period continue till May 8, and then start the free month?

Bump...I'm wondering the same thing (still have around 2 weeks left on mine)

The free month option doesn't seem to be there if you have the "friends and Family" plan.

Wonder if you can change to the Non-Friends/Family plan, then get a free month the next day. Guess I'll try that.

I was thinking that too, Let me know how it works out for you. the Firends and family plan is actually crap. all you get is an extra two week free trial when you first sign up. there should be more perks!

I switched over. Nothing has changed. I have a feeling I might get this free month offer once the '3 at a time' deal kicks in. It renews on May 10th. If no one has reported success doing this before May 10th, I'll let you know how mine turns out.

Anyone know if Blockbuster will offer ANOTHER free month? My second free month is almost up. In a way, I almost hope they don't. It will allow me to live a normal life again. LOL
