Just got an e-mail -

Blockbuster is having their buy 2 pre-viewed DVDs and get one free promotion from March 11 - 31.

🙂

It usually goes for the game too. For my xbox, I got Maden 2k3, Genma Onimusha and 007: Agent Under Fire, for about 48.00 right after Christmas. I hope they have Splinter Cell up for cheap!

Peace

my blockbuster has been killed for their previously viewed dvd's also. some kid whipping out his visa left and right bought a stack of dvd's during the $9.99 promotion. 😀

just to give a heads up. most blockbuster PV dvd's are in the 12.99 to 14.99 range. buying 2 equals up to $30 (get a 3rd movie free). if you bought 3 PV dvd's during the all for $9.99 sale, it ended up as $30 also. heh, go figure.

Damn fiend!! I saw the thread title, just bounced into my reply, the car...

Better title!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:|

I was going anyway since I have a rent 1 get one free so not that big a deal.

Sounds good to me, depending on the titles...
I'll be running down to Blockbuster on the 11th....

But, if you're looking at starting to build up a nice collection of dvd's, some of the memberships at Columbia house work out to between 9 and 9.50 per dvd, including shipping. That's for un-previously viewed...
Check over to that place where they talk about dvd's for more info on how to join effectively (how to get the most bang for your buck)

Only thing I hate about BB is the stickers they put on the DVDs & cases. At least the Hollywood Video sells them clean (so ppl wouldnt even know they were PV).

When my friends see that I have stickers on my DVD's they gasp at the notion that I actually bought a second hand dvd....the horror! 😉

I second the thing about the stickers on the DVDs, it's the stupidest thing ever. I have no idea why they would want to put a sticker on the DVD. Anyone who rents it can make a 1:1 copy of it, so its not as if they're going to have problems with someone stealing the actual media. Plus, the sticker just makes the DVD unbalanced and noisy.

If they had no sticker, then any time I had a bad DVD, all I'd have to do is rent one & mix them up

If you don't mind doing a little work, I can help. Put on your tea ketle and wait til it boils. Hold the DVD or case in the steam stream for about 30 seconds and it will loosen up the glue. Start peeling slowly until the label comes off. If any glue residue left, use rubbing alchohol to remove that. Presto! Your DVD/case will look like new in about 1 minute.

Or you can just use a hair drier on the stickers... a heat gun even works better.

What I hate about the Blockbuster stickers is the location of them. (right over the UPC bar code) I use DVD Profiler and it looks up and logs your DVD's by the UPC code. You can look them up by the title as well, its just easer to do it by the bar code. If you have a large DVD collection DVD Profiler is a must. The reports it can generate and print out are a great way to answer that question "Do I have that DVD already or not? ." It is also a FREE program so I guess that would make it a Hot Deal as well.

Right now all 9.99 and lower dvds are 2 for $15 and all others are 2 for $25 at Hollywood Video. The normal prices normally aren't too hot, most newer releases are $14.99-$16.99. They all do not come in their original packaging, the WB cardboard cases are replaced with the normal keep cases as are two disc sets that come in the packaging like Amelie and Fight Club.

I just got back from blockbuster, I forgot to ask about the games, but the movies are indeed buy 2, get 1 free. The store i went to had a nice selection, most are 10$-$15, so it ended up being about $10 per movie, not bad. I picked up Signs, Insomniac, and Panic Room.
