Blockbuster $1 for a month of 3 dvd rental

I just got an email from blockbuster. Earlier this year I had done a free trial membership for a month of 3 dvds, I didn't like it all that much because the shipping times were too long (I only was able to get in 12 movies in an entire month, thats an average of 7 or 8 days per set of movies), and they have a lot of movies on "long wait," and they split up multi disk sets into 1 dvd each request (dunno if this is common among online rental companies), so I canceled.
Anyway, they are offering a month for previous subscribers who have canceled accounts, a $1 for a month of 3 dvds. Also includes 2 in store rentals per month. Offer expires when 2006 hits

If you've already used all the free trial codes, this might be to your liking 🙂 Make sure to cancel before they start charging you again if you dont want to pay a monthly fee, once you sign up the MY ACCOUNT area will have details on the day they will start charging.

If you were a member before you can check your email, the link should be there as well.

I think the link is customized to each person (since someone said the above link doesn't work), so check your email for it.

Confirmed: If you are a current BB subscriber, and your month ends before the year does, you can cancel then you should get the email shortly after, and use it save on a month.
 
Already signed up, this is the 5th free month of Blockbuster service I've gotten so far 😛. Ok, well this one's "almost" free 😀.

The ones that are active dont. Other than that I dont know, it could be that the emails used to sign up for the account previously were fake, or block it as spam. Or it could be as you say, that only some accounts get the email. But I would imagine that using that link, any account thats not active can take advantage of this deal. If it doesn't work, let us know.

not all inactive accounts work. this was posted over at chubby. heck even some who got the email it doesn't work for.

so currently for me everytime I try it brings up an error.
 
yea i got this today too. it's says reactivate today, anyone know when this expires? i want to re-signup after the new year cuz i'll be outta town.

Weee.... had to update my credit card info before I could reactivate my account, but all is good now... and just in time for winter break at home!
 
Works, my next billing was supposed to be on dec 27th, so I cancelled my account, and in a few minutes recieved an email with the $1 for a month offer and signed up again.

i had to update my credit card too since i used a one time use cc last time. i was just about to rent four brothers at hollywood video for like $3. but now blockbuster will be sending it to me along with a month's worth of dvd's.

didnt work. i had the BB acct for about 3 months earlier. but I still have my BB acct open (not active). when I tried to sign up, it said I have to sign in. put in my email address and password and gave me an error page.

Yeah I think the link is customized to the person. Check your email for it and use the link there.
 
I got it too, but since they tried to charge me for a movie I returned after I cancelledI will never go back.
After I challenged the charge with Discover a month later they recieved it.
I am sure they just screwed up and if I didn't challenge they never would have acknowledged the return.
