Bloatware

Hello everyone!

I recently purchased a beauty new HP laptop, with T8100 processor and Vista Premium, 32 bit. The machine is really quite impressive, save for the extraneous tinsel, bloatware.

In XP, I use CCCleaner and a Sygate firewall.

I assume CCCleaner will not work with Vista Premium? What is the best method for removing all the bloatware?

Also, I'm assuming an extraneous firewall is no longer necessary in Vista? Is this so?

And, I've already encountered two Vista problems, a word check failure in the e-mail program and a failure to utilize Norton Antivirus, because of a software glitch. I assume this is not unusual with Vista?

Any and all information, appreciated,

thanks,

John

Norton anything is crap and also bloated. Just like adobe reader, quicktime, real player, nero, and some other crap.

Also Crap Cleaner works with vista.

Thank you all,

for your resposes and references. When I have time, I'll start chipping away.

Vista is a little too busy, for my liking, but I don't know how much HP is to blame.

In time, hopefully, I'll have it to my liking.

Again, thanks,

John
