From the cops own words...
“I’m going to stop a car,” an officer says the police audio scanner, obtained by news oganizations. “I’m going to check IDs. I have reason to pull it over.”

“The two occupants just look like people that were involved in a robbery,” the officer continues. “The driver looks like one of our suspects, just because of the wide set nose.”

A full minute and a half after the dispatch, another call came in: “Shots fired! Larpenteur and Fry.”

Castile was suspected by the cop over a single characteristic that most black men have along with a great number of other minorities?

Is that a gun, or a belt that's shiny? Video isn't very high quality.

I agree the video is a bit fuzzy and shaky, so we can't be sure it is a gun, yet. The police probably know, as they will have it as evidence. But we will have to wait to find out the fuller story.

The policeman who shot the guy, has released a statement (of sorts), via his defense lawyer, basically saying that the suspect/victim had a gun, which forced the policeman's self defense reaction.

E.g. (I've seen many other references to the following, so it seems to be reliable)

Which seems to confirm that the driver had a GUN (presumably close enough to the guys hand, to use against the policeman), at the time of the shooting.

I.e. This may have been legitimate self defense by the policeman.

But we need to be careful, because we have NOT got the full information yet, and the information released by the policeman's lawyer, could be biased/shaped to help defend the policeman, rather than get to the proper truth of what happened.

It's true. Just last week, my boss confused Samuel L Jackson with Ving Rhames. Apparently, they are both in commercials that are airing right now and I guess he just can't tell the difference..

If the gun was in his lap, and after pretty much incapacitating him, wouldn't the cop then reach in and grab it?

Eh the guy supposedly told the cop he had a gun to warn him. Even though state law does not require letting police know if you have a CC permit.

Unless the guy points the gun at a cop there is no legitimate use of force in this situation. And to not render first aid after shooting him when he is clearly disabled is unconscionable.

We ONLY seem to have the girlfriends "VERSION" of events, saying that is what he said.

BUT she could be lying/wrong/mistaken.

As regards the first aid. Until the girlfriend is safely NOT near the gun, the police can treat them as the most urgent thing to deal with. Since the police otherwise, could be shot and killed by the other suspect (girlfriend).

On the other hand, the police could be lying etc.
So I guess we will have to wait and see what the official outcome of any investigations are about this. Maybe it will go to court ?

TL;DR
I guess it could end up being the girlfriends testimony VS police's version of events.
Hopefully there will be enough evidence, to reach a reliable conclusion.

Some websites DEBUNK that information source as being somewhat false.

I'm looking forward to the official evidence, when it appears, publicly, along with their decisions as to if the police involved with the incident are to face charges or not. Etc.

Given the propensity of our police to lie on reports. Im not giving them much benefit of the doubt. I absolutely believe he told the cop he has a gun and is a conceal carry permit holder. The cop was incompetent and shot him thinking he was going for the gun when he was going for his ID as the cop instructed him to do.

If there is a body cam proving me wrong then so be it. Lets see if they have that, and if it ever gets released.

A guy who smokes pot in his car with his 4yr old (not only child abuse, illegal in Colorado, but also a disqual for ccp), matches the description of a armed robbery suspect (hasn't yet been ruled out), belongs to a crip group on fb...etc, might do something stupid?

Yeah, we probably should give equal weight to each side potentially doing something stupid until we learn more.

You have no fucking clue if he did that. You have the girlfriends viewpoint, which, at this point, is no better than Dorian johnson or that chick who lied about hands up dont shoot.

The reaction of a "clean and legit kill"? Is that what you really think cops are thinking about when they shoot someone? Or that they are going out there to try to shoot someone? Was he supposed to fist-bump his partner and get pats on the back if it was a "clean and legit kill"?

How about that he just realized that he actually took someone's life? You don't think that could get someone upset? Even in a justified shooting, I wouldn't be surprised if cops reacted that way.

As an example, would you think it was normal for the girlfriend to calmly pick up her phone and live stream the aftermath of the shooting? She's calm and collected and yet her fiancé was shot directly in front of her. Most experts stated that she was probably in shock, which is why she was acting so "strange" at that point.
