No, I was agreeing with someone who was responding to someone who said something along the lines that "why did they blow up an explosive instead of disarming it", when blowing up IEDs remotely is a common occurrence, since cutting wires means a human who is next to a bomb for a notable length of time, and more time means more exposure. Disarming them, or blowing them up, is all fine with me, whatever is most appropriate for the situation. And the video I was mentioning, and linked for you, was just how they dealt with one particular IED. Basically I was saying, that just blowing up an IED, instead of taking the time and risk to disarm it, isnt necessarily a bad thing on its own.

I'm not well versed in the middle east's economics, but historically you can track most major wars and revolutions to some kind of economic distress.

Most people look at how war affects the economy, but a close look turns that upside down. Bad economic conditions tends to lead to social upheaval, violence, and sometimes war.

This is really why, IMO, unequal distribution of wealth is an true existential threat. And I'm not talking about race either, that unequal distribution is currently affecting everyone who isn't in the top 20% or so of income earners the country.

While I agree with you, the solution would be a continuation of a global economy and nation building in many countries. Is that something you support?

That's what I've been asking and no one has been willing to answer it. I'm also wondering where the"all lives matter" people are and why they aren't out protesting the killing of more lives by police.

If poverty were the true cause, then one solution could be to heavily tax ammo. Similar to the way cigarettes and booze is taxed to discourage their use. Then they really have to want to kill people to spend a lot of dough on ammo.

Problem is that won't work because poverty isn't the cause. Besides these killers know either their freedom or life will come to a swift end soon so they really are determined enough to pay for heavily taxed expensive ammo. If they are willing to pay with their freedom or life then they would be willing to pay with their wallet as well.

But less determined criminals might be deterred by higher cost for ammo.
