Less than 22 hours to go to this years event after last year was skipped.

Main items expected to be covered:
D3 expansion
Hearthstone
Heroes of the Storm

Item being heavily anticipated with no pre-coverage yet:
Wow expansion.

Starcraft likely to be runt of the litter this year.

Saturday night closing festivities provided by Blink 182.

Heard that Mohr would again be hosting the friday night fun.

I've got my Virtual Ticket ordered already! 🙂 I got my Trivial Pursuit via FedEx yesterday, and whew... I need to brush up on my WoW knowledge.
 
I heard someone going through some of the card deck for that, lore oes could be really intense.

i was being serious? i thought everyone hated blizzard now?? The hate WoW now, they hate Diablo 3. Starcraft 2 doesn't seem to be very much talked about..they haven't put out anything new or innovative or quality in years.

for once i'm with ponti, they are not the same company

diablo 3 sucked
starcraft 2 is dead
warcraft? trading card games? panda expansion? where is the emerald dream? lol

Unless they release something to win me back, I'm now comfortable saying Blizzard is not what it used to be. They've had plenty of chances to prove otherwise, and have not delivered.
 
People haven't like the decisions "they've" chosen recently. As opposed to most other devs, they're listening to a certain point given the number of things that they have changed post release. Not to mention it's probably they most profitable dev studio out there.
 
I am hoping for a good WoW expansion at least! Cata failed for me, and pandas are so Lore breaking for me, i dont know why. I could tolerate Mojo Stormstout as a bonus char in wc3 tft when you complete that side quest/mission, but that is about it.

Is it like impossible to get Warcraft 4? i think so

New expansion is fixing the problems and AH is being removed

SC2 is not dead "In North America, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm was the #1 PC game for the first nine months of 2013."

World of Warcraft recently dropped down to 7.6 million subscribers and Hearthstone is flourishing even in beta.

Given both World of WarCraft and WarCraft IV would attempt to access and modify the lore at the same time, it's the programming equivalence of a concurrent access exception! So, I doubt it. WoW would have to die first.
 
I am really excited about the D3 Expansion. D3 is still heavily played by a lot of people. The expansion is going to address many of the issues people had.

And I am excited about Hearthstone. Still hoping to get a beta key.
 
Blizzard Team Changes
The Blizzcon schedule has some interesting changes to the team working on different games, including the return of Furor to WoW.

World of Warcraft Team
Alex Afrasiabi (Furor) - He started out as a Quest Designer, then Lead Quest Designer up until WoTLK, then Lead World Designer in Cataclysm, then he disappeared after Tigole announced he was moving to another project (Titan), but he is apparently now back as Creative Director for the next expansion!
Craig Amai - He was a previously a Game Designer, and is now the Lead Quest Designer for the next expansion.
Dave Kosak - He was previously Lead Quest Designer, and is now the Lead Narrative Designer for the next expansion.

Heroes of the Storm Team
Dustin Browder - He was Game Director for StarCraft II, and is now Game Director for Heroes of the Storm
Matt Cooper - He was Game Balance Designer for StarCraft II, and is now Game Designer on Heroes of the Storm
Richard Khoo - He was Game Designer on StarCraft II, and is now Senior Game Designer on Heroes of the Storm
Alexander Sun - He was on the Web Team, then Game Designer on StarCraft II, and is now Senior Game Designer on Heroes of the Storm


Warlords of Draenor Domain Changed
The WarlordsofDraenor.com domain we mentioned last week changed early this afternoon to a Forbidden error from the domain parking page previously used.

It also is now pointed to an IP address that Blizzard owns. Keep in mind that anyone can purchase a domain and point it to a Blizzard IP, as those servers currently respond to requests for any domain.

Didn't D3 lose like 80% of the playerbase? I don't know anybody personally who still plays it, although thats anecdotal.

Starcraft 2 is dying in terms of eSports..has been for a while now. I would think that would be reflected in normal playerbase as well. SC2 declining is the whole reason for Heroes of the Storm. Have to capitalize on what is hot and make another MOBA clone to go up against LoL and Dota2.

WoW keeps dropping subs and I don't think most people like it like the 'good old days', although I never liked WoW to begin with.

Honestly, I don't know how Blizzard could have any fans these days.

Human warlocks wasn't lore breaking enough for you? (that is being a true purist)

Space Cows wasn't lore breaking enough for you? (That is pretty much everything else)
 
I'll be super pumped if the next expansion has to do with the Burning Legion/Kil'jaeden/hints at Sargeras
 
The last Blizzcon I was able to get free tickets and went. It was pretty cool. I technically walked in through the back door and didn't get checked. Could probably do it again this year.
 
I'd like to try Hearthstone so I'm hoping it goes into truly open beta. And I know my friends will be all over the Blizzard MOBA so I'm sure I'll end up trying it at least - if, by some wonderful magic, it plays more like Bloodline Champions than DOTA or LoL that'd be amazing. But it won't happen.

I was looking forward to the D3 expansion until they decided to remove the AH, not interested now. Not having a market is just ludicrously archaic.
