No, just something I have been wanting to do for a few years...E3 is like 400$ and you have to be a member of the press. Blizzcon is only 125$.

It will make for a good road trip this summer!

I've considered flying from east coast to west for blizzcon but I really cant afford to atm. Totally worth it though imo. Make sure and post your thoughts on Diablo 3 after you play it. You lucky bastard.

D3 is the main reason I want to go...so many good games from blizz this/next year.

SC2, D3 are on the top of my lists.

I can't wait :)

We are actually going to do a 2 week road trip hopefully, me, my GF, my sister, and my best friend, who happens to be my sisters husband....but only me and her husband are going to blizzcon.

He actually got 2 tickets, was queued up as number 500 some within 2 seconds, I queued up in about 2 minutes, I was 6000 something, but he was able to get two tickets!!

It's been a while since I have been to cali, but road tripping will let us be able to drive to san fran/san diego as well as LA. Probably pit stop in Denver too.

I got tickets this year too, I'm excited to go back.

sounds like a fun road trip where you driving from.

Minneapolis..we are going through Denver and Las Vegas....we were going to fly, but it'd be more enjoyable driving.

Some of my friends are trying to go. They got on as soon as it started and were 7800 in line. They wanted me to go, but I'm not really a Blizzard fan. Their games are very well done, I just don't enjoy them. WoW was pretty fun with other people, and Diablo I was a blast. Other than that... Meh.

Have fun though. If you get a chance, check out some of the desert parks to the East.

I don't know what's wrong with Blizzard, not putting the time of the sale on their web site. A player told me 10 AM Pacific.

They sold out in less than 30 minutes. There's a second batch of tickets coming sometime this month. Blizzcon 2008 sold out in less than 15 minutes.

Seriously why does Blizzard not move this to the L.A. Convention center?

I know the P.R. from saying "tix sold out in 30 seconds" is good, but is it really worth disappointing the thousands of people who can't go because they couldn't get tickets? It's not like WoW needs more publicity. Just doesn't make sense.

I do not think it's really about WoW..more or less D3, SC2 ... I hope. I do not want anymore information on WoW, haha...unless they are going to revamp the whole engine.

I am curious, how many people went to last years?

if you have DirectTV you can pay 40 bucks for the Pay-per-view event and get the in game companion.

Didn't even try to buy tickets this year. I went last year, but I'm expecting some really annoying and incredibly heavy financial burden coming up (thanks to my apartment's draconian leases and Obama's horrible budget -- but anyway), which it would be a tad bit irresponsible of me to plan another trip to Anaheim. I went last year and it was fun... I just need to wait for Blizzard to enable the SC2 beta so I can use my key :).

I'll most likely just buy the PPV stream from DirecTV so I can get a Grunty the Murloc pet for WoW.

You got a key last year?

Pfft, pets are lame! We should get cool mounts like they did last year.

Yeah, you'll most likely get one this year. It's on the card where the in-game code is.

I kinda wish I could go again... it was certainly fun and they're getting better and better at organizing it. I know I was told before that they didn't take cards for the stores, but last year they did. They may also try and organize things better in regard to the store. But let me tell you one thing, if you want to buy something from the store, do it during large events. There will practically be no line, but if you wait, you'll have a huge-ass line that you'll literally spend hours standing in. I waited in one for around 3 hours and just gave up... I was missing half of Blizzcon just to stand there =\. Amusingly enough, I went through during the Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain concert and got through in minutes. It's not like you can't hear the music when the one store was literally behind the large meeting area :p.

If you want to get nifty swag, I recommend definitely checking out the stuff that comes in your goodie bag. You'll get these the day before the event starts when you pick up your bag ( which the line for that will be quite long as well, but it goes much, much faster... it felt like an old AV queue time  ). But last year, Jinx was selling the stuffed murlocs in limited supply. When I saw that, I went to their store first (even missed being in the main hall for the opening ceremony) and I ended up getting two. After the opening ceremony was done, the line grew to crazy proportions and the murlocs eventually sold out until the next day (in which they sold out quickly as well).

Also, the game trial lines were long, but they moved pretty quickly. I think I only stood in SC2 and D3 lines for maybe 15 minutes? You guys probably will get the same SC2 that we got (or maybe slightly updated), but more than likely get a whole new D3 build with more interesting stuff (probably a new class?).

I just hope they announce something cool this year... I felt jipped when all they announced was a new class in Diablo 3... yippy :p.

I went last year and flew from east coast. It was worth the money and was great fun, but I'm not bothering this year. Last year was interesting because they were unveiling three new games. There probably won't be as much new content at this one, and it will probably be more SC2 oriented. I definitely will get the web cast though and am glad they are offering it because I liked the developer forums. It's just not worth the ~$1000 for the trip this time for me.
