unlimited OFF-PEAK for T-Mobile means Weekends only...does not include weeknights. That will eat up those 600 min pretty fast.

I should give them a call then, I just got a family plan with a few people, 800mins a month, etc, but they said only the weekends were free.

i finallyl got in on this, used the $5 off coupon and upgraded my shipping so i'll have it next day and final phone cost will be about $8 shipped 🙂

The new plan is only for the 39.99 600minutes plan

The Samsung is much, MUCH better than the Motorola could ever be... 😛

Just to give you an idea, there was a good demand for the phone when it could only be had through Germany at $600...it's that good. Awesome color screen, good battery life, and more importantly, excellent reception...I want this phone...too bad I'm still under a contract.

what he said 😉

t-mobile sucks for so. cal.....they use the same towers as cingular....both of which have horrible reception...

let's say u get the 600 minutes....don't matter....1/3 of it will be dropped calls/failed calls, etc.... that's 200 wasted minutes....(since each time u press send and u hear the tone, that's 1 minute...) ...so yeah u get 400 usable minutes....sucks huh?...

Where did you get that $5 coupon??

Also, is amazon pretty reliable in terms of these cell phone plans compared to the plans we actually get at the retailer stores?

well.. the plan comes from the carrier not from amazon.. so think of amazon as retail stores.. except for the price.

*btw.. anyone w/ questino about t-mobile offpeak.. they used to be Unlimited weekend.. but now it's Unlimited NIGHTS and WEEKEND for ONLY.

Get more $39.99
get more plus $59.99
get more max $99.99

btw.. cingular just introduced Rollover for Family talk... mmm .. cingular looks good.. 🙂

Hey, I have a question. SOrry for being a little off topic.

Why does amazon ask for credit info? Do they activate the phone for you? Or do you do everything yourself? The problem is, I need a phone, but I don't have an american driver's license (I'm a Canadian student studying in Connecticut).

Thanks!

Michael

Edit: to continue my question... do they set up the tmobile account for you? Or do you do that separately? Can i get someone else to buy from amazon, and fill the credit check part out, and then just use my own info to activate later? Like, TMobile will activate without the driver's license... Thanks!

For those interested, I have found T-mobile to be pretty decent in the Westwood/UCLA area. I get good reception around my apartment (can't say the same for some other services) and in most of the buildings on campus (not Ackerman or Boelter though). Their rate plans and phones are very cheap for what you get, and their customer service reps were very friendly and helpful both times I talked to them. I picked up a Motorola v66 through this amazon deal and just recently got my rebate. If you like the phones, I would say go for it. You can't beat the price!

Here's my question....Will this plan's terms ever expire? As in, my contract is 2 years, but the night minutes are a "bonus" that expires after 1 year.

I know AT&T does that.

Right now I'm on TDMA cingular and living in NYC. It works ok and my plan is the old no roaming whatsoever kind, which is nice. I get great reception in a lot of places, but I need more minutes and this plan is a lot better than Cingular's offerings.

Is it worth it? Will T-mobile have the last laugh if I switch over and they take away my night minutes?

afaik , no other carrier does that.. i've seen too many ppl that suffered by the att's rotten plans

Yea im considering getting the samsung phone too ... it is a lot better than the motorola one ...

i heard the same same about tmobile too.. i heard they suck d!ick ....but some are telling me they are alrite..

just for all ur information .. Motorola is coming out with thier T720 phone .. looks sweet too ..
it will be available for both T-mobile and ATT... see cingluar is missing out again

I would get Cingular again, but Cingular is just not up to the market ... sucky phone .. and not getting on with the trend and get the new phone ..

but again.. regarding to tmobile ... lets put it this way... T-Mobile use the same tower as Cingular .. but
you all know how Cingular is, and Cingular did not lend T-Mobile all the tower too.. so you can see how GOOD of reception T-Mobile will get...

I hope T-Mobile will merge with Cingular ..
