Blinking PM in buddy list, but no PM!?!

This happened twice to me within a 24 hour period so I'm guessing it's not too isolated. I've had two people on my buddy list (I use it to keep track of ongoing trades) send me a PM, the name in the buddy list will blink but when I click on the name to retrieve the message, I get an error: "No messages have been found or you are not authorized to view this message."

The messages don't show up in the history for that user, and one of the senders says he doesn't have it in his history either. It also never shows itself in that "new PMs" list when you visit the viewprivatemessage.cfm page (the only way I know these "phantom" messages came are through the blinking buddy list icon). The buddy icon will keep blinking until I remove them from the list, then readd them.

Has this happened to anyone else before? Or is this one of those newly fabricated bugs just to annoy me and me only.

Have the person send you another PM (the same person that has the blinking). Read it and then click done. That will get rid of it.

Either that or archive and/or delete all the PMs in your history and that will get rid of the blinking light also.

I guess I'm more concerned with the lost messages more than the continuous... rhythmic... incessant... hynotic... blinking. I mean, removing the blinking is as simple as removing then readding them to the buddy list -- no problems there. It's more of a bother to ask the sender to resend their last message, especially if they can't cut and paste from their history because it doesn't exist.
