Blender Farm

Hi, I don't really know much about either networking or linux. So naturally i want to try and make a render farm for the open source 3d modeling app, blender (www.blender.org). I have a few old computers, but no windows licenses (i'm doing this in school btw). I thought maybe it would be possible to get something like this running on linux (a very light distro preferably, these are OLD computers). Can anyone point me in the right direction?

B.U.R.P. (Big Ugly Rendering Project) is a distributed computing project that renders animations using Blender. If you just have animations that you want to render, you can submit them to the project to be done. If you actually want to make your own small rendering farm, the folks on the forums there might be able to help you work out the details.
