If you want the entire vocal out, you may be out of luck unless the vocal track is dead center in the stereo field.
By inverting the phase of the stereo track and playing the two identical yet phase reversed tracks against each other , one can use Common Mode Rejection to eliminate that which is dead center. Easily done in any waveform editing program. Level matching is critical
Of course, any other sounds, snare , kick drum and or bass guitar which
usually are panned center will be affected as well. In addition, any stereo effects added to those tracks such as reverb will still be audible when the tracks are combined and played back, rendering the effect more or less successful, dependent on level of critical evaluation.
there was a device made awhile back called the Thompson Vocal Eliminator which did this to a greater or lesser degree.
