My problem is that when I boot up, my computer just beeps. I see the keyboard light up but nothing else, just that incessant beeping. The monitor won't even turn on. Someone told me that the beeping means the video card went out so I replaced it but it made no difference at all. The beeps don't seem to be any kind of recognizable code. By that I mean it doesn't beep a particular sequence or number of times then stop or repeat itself. It simply beeps at a steady interval and continues indefinitely (well, until I turn it off anyway).
I've tried reseating the processor and the beeping stopped but then there was still no signal to the monitor and the keyboard lit and stayed lighted. So I tried yet another processor and the beeping returned with still no signal to the monitor and a Christmas tree for a keyboard. I've installed different video cards and pulled the ram chips one at a time and reinstalled them to no avail. I've tried different monitors and checked to make sure the ribbon cables are securely connected. Please help, my life is a conundrum
