BLEEPIN' COMPUTER JUST BEEPS!

My problem is that when I boot up, my computer just beeps. I see the keyboard light up but nothing else, just that incessant beeping. The monitor won't even turn on. Someone told me that the beeping means the video card went out so I replaced it but it made no difference at all. The beeps don't seem to be any kind of recognizable code. By that I mean it doesn't beep a particular sequence or number of times then stop or repeat itself. It simply beeps at a steady interval and continues indefinitely (well, until I turn it off anyway).
I've tried reseating the processor and the beeping stopped but then there was still no signal to the monitor and the keyboard lit and stayed lighted. So I tried yet another processor and the beeping returned with still no signal to the monitor and a Christmas tree for a keyboard. I've installed different video cards and pulled the ram chips one at a time and reinstalled them to no avail. I've tried different monitors and checked to make sure the ribbon cables are securely connected. Please help, my life is a conundrum

The most likely audio error code from what you describe is that the PSU is dying, so beg, borrow, or buy one to confirm it.

Give it a swift kick and put it out of its misery.

What was the last thing that you did to the computer, or someone else who was on it last did? Did you change any software/hardware settings? Does the mobo have LEDs that you can look up in the manual and see what the problem may be?

Also, did you make sure all connections are tight and where they're supposed to be?

Speedtester, You hit it right on the nose. I tried everything I could think of but since I'd never opened up a case before I couldn't think of much. I've spent 2 weeks on any forum I could find, and got some great advice, learned alot, but there was one thing no one thought of......change the battery. I took the battery out and put it right back in and the darned thing booted right up! My guess is that by doing so the Cmos was reset to default and suddenly the birds were singing, flowers were blooming, love was in the air, and... wait...uuh...man, that's just absolutely disgusting.... 😱 sorry 'bout that, anyway, that's all it took. Thanks for the input. 🙂
