I want to make sure you guys don't order too many of these drives and delay my shipment, so I will make the following statement:

These drives suck and you don't want one. They are used and broken with no warranties. They are actually 120MB drives and Dell is not responsible for typos. Dell is in fact a mirage and will vanish in the night. I hope you are all happy now.

I guess this deal is so good that people don't want to believe it actually might happen.

IF you're not getting free shipping, it's because of your cookies. Do a search for "dell" on your PC, and delete anything that looks like a cookie. Close all of your browser windows, and then go to the site again. You'll get the free shipping.

over the last couple years i have found dell using the WD drives in everything, they have no warranty from WD. Dell i believe gives a 1 yr warranrty which may mean hours on the phone, although they do replace the discs, perhaps with a refurb unit. this is from personal experience with 5 seperate dell puters.. thought it might shed some light on dell, most stuff has 30 day money back.
good luck

i wouldn't be surprised if these all get cancelled

i'll try it anyway and hopefully it'll go through or get cancelled before the staples 80GB maxtor deal ends.

too bad this doesn't come with an ata card... i'm out of ports...

I got this drive confirmed on April 19th at night. Ship date on or around April 25th.

Thats kinda strange... I havn't got my 40x burner confirmed yet...

<< You think its a pricing mistake? If its not then I don't think it would be a problem no matter how many people order. Their database gets uptaded automatically whenever somebody buys a drive, right? They can't sell more than what they have in stock ... or I am wrong? >>

In a word NO!

NEstle I don't think that U saw the Belkin NICs fiasco. or the Altec Lansing speakers for $21 shipped fiasco. or the 1400SC stunt. Am I forgetting a few???

'nuf said.

Last night, I ordered an 80gig Seagate Barracuda drive for $85 (after rebate). About an
hour later, I learned about this deal on the 120gig Western Digital.

Decided this morning to cancel the order for the 80gig (easily done), and placed an order
for the 120gig drive.

If the deal doesn't worth out, hey, such is life. But when all is said and done, I know I'd
have never been quite satisfied with the 80gig drive, knowing that I could've had something
50% larger. (Of course, in another year or two, we'll probably look upon 120gig drives as
puny, and the hot deals will be on 280gig drives for under $135.)

As an aside, a new hard drive gives me a good excuse to finally use the Norton Ghost that
came on the SystemWorks CD. Since I'm seriously considering making a copy of my current
20gig HD, and installing it onto the new 120gig HD.

Anyone in the Los Angeles area (Zip 91770) that is willing to buy 2 of these drives to take advantage of the $25 off and split one with me? Please PM me or e-mail me.

another wd400bb arrived from dell, boxed was marked *REFURBISHED* the disc is not, have not everbeen, in anyway, marked or branded as REFURBISHED this is how dell is? are these discs refurbed or not? i have gotten a bunch of them from them?
WHATS THE SCAM with dell & the refurbed marked cartons, but not the discs? holds true on seagate discs we have recieved from them EXCEPT the seagates are tagged *REFURBISHED* on the disc...
good luck fellas & BUYER BEWARE

Damn! Damn! Damn! I ordered 2 of these for $380 from the hot deal last month. They just arrived yesterday. I'm dialing with one hand and typing with the other...

P.S. What the hell is wrong with all you people? This has been verified by hundreds of AT'ers over the last month. The drives are real. Dell is a real company. etc. etc. Relax already. The drives are supposed to be OEM (meaning 1yr. Dell warranty) but some people have recieved retail drives (3yr WD warranty but no retail packaging). Either way, the WD website will tell you what you've got before you even open the bag.
