Blazing: Dlink DMP-110 MP3 player $10 after rebate Fry's

Fry's bay area has the Dlink DMP-110 MP3 player for $40. Amazon has $30 rebate coupon at

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t.../B00005NIM8/rebates/01,02/102-2622942-3964120

with no restrictions except that it cant be bought from ubid.

$40 - $30 = $10!! Not bad for a 32 MB MP3 player with smartmedia expansion.

Addtl info: tried it. software primitive, but works. Microphone doesnt. Smartmedia has an issue that once formatted for the dlink, may not be usable elsewhere. volume quite high, nice belt clip. Not nearly as nice as the nomad, but at 10% of the price, who's complaining? It works, and for $10, its great to not worry about losing it. (Yes I lost my nomad somewhere.)

Fremont Fry's had a dozen this morning.

For those wondering, Fry's also has a sale on smartmedia cards. $20 for 64 MB. It has been running once every several weeks.

I went to the Austin Fry's and found two D-Link DMP-110, both returns. The price on the package is $79.99 but rang up for the sale price of $39.99 (good through February 19th). Minus the $30 rebate makes it $9.99 + tax. Since I only picked up one of the two, there was one left this AM.

I just bought one of these and does anybody else notice the fairly high level of white noise, especially during the quiet part of the songs? I also paid 44.95 at anaheim. I think all of so cali is at 44.95.

Okay I downloaded a few MP3's and found that yes there is some while noise (cheap little amp). There was none at 0 volume but you can immediatly hear it at 1. It isn't very noticable at normal listening level - for me about 20+. Any other thoughts?

Yeah, the noise kinda sucks, but overall, it's a decent unit, especially after the rebate. I'm gonna keep it to use when I go running.

The rebate is on Amazon.com, but there's nothing at D-Link Rebate Cite. So I called them (pls. don't flame me), and they told me it's valid. Guess it's time to get my a$$ to the nearest fry's.

Thanks whodiini!

is there anyway to upgrade this thing to > 64 mb? can i use a 64mb in addition to the built in 32? or it must be add on of 32?
box says 64.
anyway i can take out the 'built in' card??
anyone tried this?

The DMP-110 I bought listed on the package that it could handle a 64MB Smart Card for a total of 96MB. I put a 64MB in without any problems. While the package was marked with the $79.99 price there was a yellow tag that had the $39.99 price.

<< I was at manhatan beach frys today and it ws $79.99.

Where did you guys at that store see the $45 ones?

Take it to the front and it will ring up at 45 dollars.
