Blazing! Color Vid camera for $24.99

Looks like you could make your own " Battlestar Earth". Even chance it would be better than the original...

Looking at the specs, you need to hardwire the camera directly into a VCR or TV. Could be kind of cumbersome.

<< Where does it say it is color? I guess it may, those X10 color ones are probably about that small. >>

You're are right, it doesn't say it's color anywhere does it? Hmmmm....

I went back and checked the forum I got this from and in the description over there it says color. I guess I just took their word for it. I'll modify the title of the thread.

*EDIT - I went to the company's website and they have a pic of it hooked to a tv and the picture is in color. 🙂

Anyone find a link to a review that has the camera specifications, such as lines of resolution, etc.?

I could use this as a entry-way camera.

The first thing that comes to my mind is RCA. If that's the case, that this camera uses an RCA-in jack for connecting to the VCR or TV, then it'd be dead simple to connect one to a WinTV card with an RCA-in jack, thus allowing you to shoot and capture straight to your PC.

If it is an RCA connection, I'd buy it (presuming i had any money, which i don't (car died, tired of dumping money into it, bought a used Honda Civic wagon)).

this works great.....i got in on this a while back and have it at home somewhere. it has sound and video hookups directly to your tv or vcr. it is color and works, definately worth it, along with the cart that it comes wtih.

I was considering getting this as a gift for someone. I think I "considered it" for too long.

Now they have a Shrinky Dinks Maker for $22.99, a whole whopping $7 off the retail price. Not hot, but reminds me of working at Wendy's in high school and throwing potato lids and salad lids in the deep fryer...they'd shrink down to a small, thick, flat piece of plastic with whatever graphics were on the lid.

Now I know why Wendy's food tastes so good. It's the secret ingredients...CFCs and polystyrene!</FONT>

It's still on their site. Not sure if the link will work for you, but here.

that looks pretty cool. I wish I had thirty dollars to blow on a new toy that I'll never use. Oh well.

BTW: Is this powered by the RCA (is that possible?) or batteries or power cable?

Powered by AC/DC adapter, RCA jacks for input of sound and video to TV/VCR. Probably a low quality CCD camera with a cheap lens, compared to what you get for $85 or so. I think it is worth 25-30 bucks for wired monitor cam. Could be a covert cam (nanny) cam IF you have a place to hide the VCR and cables, watch out for recording the audio w/o permission, it is still a felony. I doubt this can compare to what you would get on EBay nowdays. Searching for specs......
Edit: they jacked up the price to 29.99 and shipping is 10.81 for me, I'll pass.

Yeah, I ordered one for my nephew. Got it today.
I spent $36.40 for this toy- but you know what? I don't feel like this a rip-off.
If I had bought it at Christmas for $199, I'd be po'd.
Anyway, the quality of the camera is worth the price, and the action figures
will give him a few hours of fun.
