BlazBlue: CS

Well since Ark Sys Works apparently has the rights to the characters once more, that wouldn't be an issue. And yes, the majority of the guilty gear mechanics are present in BlazBlue. I also agree that BB is a nub friendly game and that Guilty Gear has the superior characters. I also want a GGX3 since we were pretty close to the end of the story (at least Sol's story).

Almost any fighting game is "nub friendly" in terms of how it easy to learn. The advanced techniques are another story. Just like SSFIV. I meet so many scrubs online that know the moves, but have no spacing ability at all. I would say 90% of them have no idea what footsies even is.

There are different kinds of "nub-friendly". For instance, SFIV was advertised as a nub friendly game, but I found it to be just the opposite. It has a zillion input buttons and it requires performing complex moves on reaction if/when you want to develop above buttonmashing. Virtua Fighter is generally thought to be "for experts only", but as a nub I found it quite welcoming. Its system is more transparent, it has only three buttons, generally easy move inputs, and easy counter inputs (block, crouch, evade or punch are sufficient to deal with most moves, and those are one-button inputs).

Forgot all about this coming out.. just placed my order on Amazon. It's been a while since I played the original so I'll be rusty as hell.

DLC character released today. Been solely playing this so I think I'll download it. 7 bucks. 5 seems to be a more fair price but whatever.

I bought Makoto after playing a few people online with her. She looked interesting, but I don't really like her too much.

And wtf they need to nerf Tager... He is worse than in CT.

Makoto is sick and has some really easy and awesome combos. I managed to do a 3,500 point combo with her when I first started up training mode, without looking or reading anything...but not really my style. I may use her as an alt

I didn't really play much with her. I noticed she has a parry though. I might mess around with her more. I did pay $7, so I should get my moneys worth.

I think I'll wait till this is 20 bux from gamestop. shouldn't be long.^_^

This is supposed to be big in the upcoming tournament scene so I doubt it will drop that fast. SSFIV goes on sale for like $35.99 now days. Granted, it does have a much larger following. The game is worth the $40.

And, despite what people who don't know shit claim, Makoto was not on the disc. The day 1 patch (v1.01) added all her stuff in. You only need the patch to play against here and the DLC to use her.

I wish they would nerf Tager already. He is worse than Akuma in Super Turbo. Most likely he will be banned in tournaments. Fastest jab in the game, plus follows 0 rules on hit stun and comboing. Not to mention standard grabs that do 1/3 of your health and he can chain them...

Umm... Notice continuum shift is <20 bux. used yes, but still <20

And since it's good'o bluray disk, scratches aren't as likely.. Hurray...

What.

Tager is the 2nd worst character in the game and his 5A is definitely not the fastest in the game. His grabs are trash because if someone plays smart he'll never get in and you have like five million years to break his command throw if he combos into them.

He does too much damage with this grabs. Plus, he can DD while being combo'd. Not to mention, he can chain grab you to death if you know how to play him. I've done it to enough people to know it needs to be nerfed. And his jab is way to fast.

Almost everyone has a combo that will do more damage than his grabs, most of the time they have a way easier time to land the combo than Tager does getting a grab. If you know how to play then you can easily get out of all of Tager's throw setups. His jab is not fast, 7 frames when there are multiple characters with a 5 frame jab, THAT being the fastest normal in the game.

Why do people complain about Tager when Bang and Litchi are the dumbest characters in the game. Bang has the fastest jab in the game AND it leads into 4-5K damage for free, off a 5 frame move thats hit confirmable. Litchi has comparable damage to Bang and has way better mixup. But people want to complain about a character that has no mobility and lacks all of the good things a grappler needs.

Bang and Litchi have yet to show me anything truly special. Tager, on the other hand, can easily chain grab you to death. It doesn't help that (as far as I can tell) grabs have min damage. Once you get full magnetism, everyone else is pretty much free. When you start a combo and I DD grab out of it, I just lawl.

Playing online is not a good indicator of how good a character is. If you look at this years SBO heres the character counts for who has qualified so far:

Bang 14
Litchi 13
Arakune 7
Hazama 4
Jin 4
Carl 3
Ragna 3
Lambda 2
Noel 2
Taokaka 2
Tager 2
Hakumen 1

There are 14 Bangs and 13 Litchi players that have qualified for SBO. 2 Tagers have qualified, and the reason why is because Tager is a horrible character

I am surprised Arakune was up there. I've never played an Arakune online. SBO is pure arcade. I am surprised there weren't more Ragna players. I hear people online bitching about Noel needed a nerf, but whatever.

I just lawl at Taokaka though. Plays like Vega from Super Turbo. So annoying bouncing off walls the entire match.

Did Rachel get downgraded that much? I remember her being near the top in the first game.. Also one of my favorites to use.

I hear a lot of people crying about her not even being usable. I haven't encountered many online and that is about all I can do because I'm sure the scene is terrible where I live.

Lame. 🙁

I just got it last week but haven't had much time to mess around with it. It's also been 9+ months since I played CT and these tutorials/challenges are murder.

dude I love this game but I suck. I can do a few decent combos but nothing like the shit I see online constantly.

It seems like everyone I play with can do crazy sick combos for half my life.

Still having fun and getting better...slowly but I lose 8/10 matches or so.

Part of the problem is I play real late at night so it is mostly dedicated players or something.

I think this game attracted a niche community to begin with, so most players are seasoned fighters. I am seeing a much higher skill level on PSN than for something like SSFIV where 90% of the people do random ultras and couldn't play footsies to save their life.

The only thing I dislike is that when I usually get into playing (weekends really late night / early morning) the majority of players are Japanese and dislike playing Americans for some reason.
