BlazBlue: CS

Anyone have this yet? Just came out on Tuesday.

I will be getting mine today for PS3. Now, to get an arcade stick for the PS3...

I probably should have added my PSN name is uBadKid if anyone wants to play online at some point. I won't have much time tonight to play, but I'll be on this weekend for sure.

I have it but I decided to get it for the 360. It is pretty great. There's a tutorial on fighting games that then gets deeper into the specifics of blazeblu. Then there's character specific challenges like SF4 only better. I haven't even bothered to play a match yet -online or off- I'm having fun working on the challenge mode.

From what I've heard, the tutorial is very good for beginners of the competitive fighters. It covers a good amount. I am hoping it will have been delivered by when I get home for lunch, I am not holding my breath. AmazonPrime just loves to tease me with fast shipping.

What's different in this than the original blazblue?
A couple new characters, balance tweaks for returning ones and some new game modes. I also believe a few things were redesigned completely.

Rebalancing, new characters, the best tutorial in a fighting game ever.Ne3w story mode which I thought was kind of fun in the first even though I don't care about the overall story.

Huh interesting, I would definitely get this if I had more time but it's pretty hard for me to find enough time to practice and get good at fighting games nowadays. I was playing blazblue at my friends place with the official joystick last week, it was pretty awesome but I just can't justify buying one for myself.

I have one of the MadCatz SFIV Round 1 TE sticks for Xbox360, but I got this one for PS3. I have to buy another stick now =( I was thinking about picking up the BlazBlue stick, but it is like $70 premium over the SSFIV one, so I'll probably grab that one instead.

you can mod your 360 te to work on ps3 as well with a cthulhu board and if you know how to solder and follow diagrams.

i could not get into the first blaz blue so i doubt i will even bother trying this one out.

I have TE sticks for 360 and PS3 and a modified HRAP with Sanwa buttons for the 360. I got the game for the 360 because I usually play online there and I only have like 3 friends on PS3 but a ton on 360.

If I keep playing it more I'll get it for PS3 too

I only have 1 PSN friend and a ton of 360 friends, but none of them play 2D fighters, except 1. I hated MvC2 on XBL because 99% of the matches I got into were people who would beam spam Megaman, Cable, Iceman. The sad thing was, once I destroyed their Megaman, they were such scrubs. I didn't get nearly as much of that on the PSN.

I know I can mod my stick, but to much of a PITA when I could easily just pick one up.

Was VF4's tutorial done by a incredibly snobby gothic lolita?

If not, than no.

Rachel?

I played most of the first game, though I never really "learned it". I progressed through a decent chunk of the story mostly by button mashing. Didn't complete it all...wonder if it's worth trying to beat and then picking up this new one when the price drops.

After playing it for awhile, some of the characters seem pretty fast. I hate the slower ones, but I don't play lame ass slow footsies even in SSFIV.

Yeah I still have VF4 EVO and I think the tutorials in this are better. That was the best until now.

Well, at least for BB:CT all the tutorials were done by top players in America (aka most of socal.) They did try to make them as noob friendly as possibly, but sometimes the really advanced stuff can't really be that easy to explain.

Yeah, but they give a good idea of what to expect. Heck, I went through them to see what they were about last night.

My execution is terrible on pad =( I can't wait until I get a stick for PS3.

if there really is a good tutorial in this game i may at least try it out. the huge problem with the first one i tried to play is that i was trying to play it 100% like sf4, and they are nothing alike. i didn't play guilty gear (didnt like it much) but i also had no clue how to play it.

hell i didn't even know how my button layout should be on my joystick for the 4 buttons you use in blazblue.

check out shoryuken.com. They have a lot of information on button layouts and such. I believe the common one is:
ABC
D

But I am not sure. It is a 4 button fighter and you can set anything to anything. Just go with whatever is the most comfortable.

This game is nothing like guilty gear lol

It is a really great tutorial. So good in fact that it is all I've done. For some reason I'm really practicing and working on these combos even though I get bored with the challenge mode in SSF4. Weird since I love SSF4 so much but the challenge mode in this is much better.

There are enough similarities to compare. I've played GG for years and I think it is similar enough.

It's WAY different in terms of mechanics. Theres a huge list I could go through but long story short, blazblue is incredibly noob friendly while GG is one of the hardest games to learn.

Yeah but it is still similar. A lot of the mechanics are there. air dashing, jump cancelling, air blocking, barrier, etc. It is very similar compared to pretty much any other fighter.

It is very noob friendly for many reasons but it is similar enough to GG to compare it for those that never played it.

I wish they'd come with another Guilty Gear. Blazblue is great but I like the GG characters better.
