Hey everyone! I can't believe its already been over a decade since I registered here... A conversation spurred with a buddy about what we used to do online back in the days. I recalled we both spent quite a bit of our time reading and posting here on Anandtech Forums! We both searched under our user names and began going through the embarrassing archives of our adolescent years! Some great laughs I tell ya!

Are any of the OG's still around? circa 99 00 ?

I'm a blast from the future :D

Welcome back :) I wasn't here back in '99 or even '01, unfortunately (fortunately?).

Hello I am Kendogg's buddy. I registered Nov 1999. i just signed up because i can't access my old account anymore! Also, if i recall the forums went back farther than 1999? If i recall they changed over to a new forum format and everyone had to register again, but i could be wrong on this. Anyhoo, i can't believe all the ridiculous things we discussed. 10 years changes a lot of things.

It does not matter what age you are; you will look back in 5yrs and think to yourself "WTF! I cannot believe I typed that?!?"

This thread has got me searching usernames to see if I can find my original one. I probably don't have the associated email account any longer though.

The forums were created in 1997.

No, the forums are older than that. Before FuseTalk, we used UBB forum software for several years, and I was posting on AT before that with much more primative forum software. The site was originally called Anand's Hardware Tech Page. Anand was a 15 year old highschool student when I first posted on the forums. :awe:

I can has time masheen?

I was the first AT Mod/Admin, and I do has time masheen. I have a lot of saved files that aren't easily found in the forum archives so if anyone can find old accounts, it would be me. Most of them are info about trolls so no guarantees.

I believe the Anandtech site first popped up in 1997, on Geocities ....

Hooray for being old.

Getting to it beats the alternative, as long as you're in good health. :)

You're right that his first forum was on Geocities. If this fan bio is correct, Anand started anandtech.com in 1997. I know we started using FuseTalk in 1999 because, as noted, we had to re-register our accounts. My account #5 is dated 1999, but I was already modding on the UBB boards before that. I don't recall how long we used that software.

The feeling is mutual. :D

And for anyone wondering: I joined in 2005. The import to vB set my account join date to 2001, along with changing my name to imported_Crono, which has been fixed already.
