Yup. I have yet to pay over $50 for a PC game, and I'm gonna see how long I can go without doing so.

While PC games usually should be $50, the extra $10 charged by console games are usually there to cover the extra licensing costs. Because PC games don't require such fees, they can be sold cheaper. It wasn't until Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2 when Activision had the audacity to charge $60 for it. Unfortunately they got away with it. CoD kiddies still gobbled it up, and other publishers took note.

Screw Call of Duty. Screw Activision. Most of all, screw Bobby Kotick.

I really dislike how Activision's move to charge $60 for Modern Warfare 2 set a pricing precedent for all new PC games. I hope I'm not alone. 🙁

It's not just Activision, the whole industry has become run by a bunch of corporate thugs. Modern Warfare raked in a cool billion dollars and cost maybe 50 million to produce but, NOooo, that wasn't good enough for them! People are already spending more on games then movies and we can expect more thugs to move into the industry and gouge us until they actually start to compete with each other. In the meantime, just wait six months for the price to come down.

I love how you're all complaining about a company that is out to make money, as if they're making games to provide some sort of public service.

The solution is simple. Don't like the price? Don't buy it. Wait for it to come down or live without it. It's not a necessity.
