blanking out after drinking

Dear Summer

Golden Member
I blacked out from around 6 PM to 8 PM

I know about half of the people didn't even drink

I was on a complete empty stomach so I blanked out quickly
Usually I can hold my liquor

I'm wondering if I said anything that I should've kept to myself and if I got carried like a dumbass to the car downstairs

do you come across as normal when you are blanking out and just not remember it the next day?

I've never blacked out from drinking and I've drank a lot. A couple of times I've drank about 3/4 of a 750ml bottle of vodka in a couple of hours and was really wasted. Ended up throwing up a LOT several hours latter and feeling generally like I was going to die but never blanked out. Not sure if it's just my physiological response to alcohol or what. My guess given these other experience with drinking that much that if I were to drink enough to pass out that I might not be waking up again.

I find generally I act as I normally would when I'm that drunk, although usually I say a few stupid things, nothing I've ever regretted though.

Same here for the most part. I just get really social and talkative. I tend to ramble when I'm drunk and might embarrass myself a bit at social parties and the like by adding 5 or 6 more sentences onto a discussion than I should. But that's usually the worst. The couple of times I have been MUCH drunker like I mention in my reply above I was at home so not quite sure how I would have reacted in public, but even here I wasn't singing and shouting or anything.

I've never understood the drunks who make complete asses of themselves. Singing and shouting at the top of their lungs, exaggerated slurs, explosive anger, etc. etc. Even at my worst I have more than enough control and conciousness not to do or say any of those things.

Browned out once. I didn't do anything too embarassing, though it helped that I was amongst friends, most of whom were also drinking.

Blackouts are just like write errors.. it was still you, wicked drunk... you just don't remember. so, unless you.. ahh i dunno.

Oh wait is the OP saying he just has a memory gap or is he saying that he passed out. I thought he meant he passed out entirely.

memory gap

However, I could have passed out on the floor and not even remember it and suddenly wake back up in the car. I just hope that I didn't say anything too private or act too out of character

Ya, when I was younger. I'd usually find out the next day that I got in a fight with someone.
Now, I don't drink to that point.

I'm with you. I've drank a ton, but have never blanked out. If you have blackouts I'm pretty sure that's a sign that it's time to cut back...

If you black out it's already too late.

I've only blacked out once. Was pregaming for a tailgate for our homecoming game. Drank about 2/3 of a Fifth of Seagrams whiskey, and then proceeded to drink more beers when I arrived at the tailgate.
Last thing I remember was getting in line to enter the stadium and then puking. Then I started to black out. I remember bits and peices of the walk home.

I've only been not able to remember a night once in my life, but apparently I was a lot of fun, there are also pictures to prove.

It's still you in that time period, it's just that you don't remember it afterward. You were still making conscious decisions, etc. It's not like it's another person. Imagine that you went through an entire day normally, and at the end of it forgot everything from before. The same feelings that it was somehow someone else pop up - but you are still you.

happend a couple of times.
I once woke up in an unkown female's bed.
After introducing ourselves we tried to figure out wat happend.
Never did find out what happend, but we're still in contact (after 6 years)

Not planning on blacking out anytime soon, cut my alcohol consumtion significantly.

I defiantly don't remember things sometimes when I get really drunk. The next day, the people I was with will start talking about what happened and I will slowly start to remember.

It's usually the same deal as you though, if I don't eat (like skip dinner or something) before drinking I get drunk FAST. Doesn't help if I eat when I am drunk too... It sucks so I try to never let that happen.

It's safe to say you probably acted like a dumbass.
