I'm using an HP Pavilion G series that someone gave me at work originally it wouldn't load windows, so i fired up the recovery partition via pressing F11 and i did a full format of the primary partition and new install but it still wont load windows. i put the hard drive in an enclosure and all the windows files are there and all the HDD tests passed. What do you think i should try next? New hard drive?

EDIT: Now i see a flashing white underscore on the top left corner wtf man....

I personally have a dislike to OEM hidden restore partitions because when you use them, you get a lovely fresh install bloated with pre-installed garbage and services you don't want.

Anyway, what I would do in your shoes would be to get hold of windows OEM install disc, boot the disc, delete all the partitions via the installer, remake 1, format it and install onto it and see what happens.

If it flunks then the problem is not software based. If it works, then it's something to do with the recovery partition. I would rule that out before fault finding hardware.
