Blank msconfig Startup tab entry

Coherence

Senior member
I've been unhappy with how my PC has been running lately, so I'm disabling a lot of startup programs that serve no real purpose (like qttask, etc.). In my msconfig Startup tab, there is an entry checked with no name, no file path, and only a vague Registry reference.

Anyone know how to figure out what the heck it might be and if it should be disabled? I've scanned for viruses and spyware, but nothing comes up about this empty entry.

Look under these two locations in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg
