The Verbatim 700 MB 52x 80 Minute Branded Recordable Disc CD-R - 100-Disc Spindle has fairly good reviews, but the "most helpful" are from ~10 years ago, and like some of them say, a lot can change, they are apt to not be now what they once were. You can pay $2/disk, some reviews say, for gold substrate material. A review said that's overkill since they've improved the plastic over the substrate. Reviews say the quality hasn't been consistent. As was said in the past (AFAIK, the same reviews I read years ago when trying to decide!), disks made in Japan or even Taiwan are apt to be more reliable than ones made elsewhere. Just perusing Amazon I can't tell where they are made. I have used disk ID programs to evaluate disks I have purchased, but of course I can't do that with disks I haven't bought yet.
Of course, there's a lot to choose from in blank CDRs beyond those Verbatims.
I bought a 100 disk canister of Sony CDRs at Costco a few years ago, I can't recall a problem, but I'm almost out of them. Just pick up another canister at Costco?
I use them mostly for music. I don't want to find them unreadable in time. What are your ideas on what 100 CD spindles you would purchase?
