I'm disappointed but not not terribly surprised either. It was a close race from the beginning but with the recent political developments such as the "tea party" the odds were slightly in favor of Lincoln.
 
I rather suspect that Lincoln's stand wrt the banking industry and derivatives was her saving grace.

Despite Danube's usual hyperbole, her very narrow victory serves notice to Dems that they need to be more mindful of their base. She'll need to work hard to mend fences within her own party to prevail in November, because it's not like Arkansas is some great bastion of Liberalism, at all. She needs the people who voted against her in the primary to vote for her in the general election.

As far as Israel being the aggressor - Palestinians have been firing rockets into Israel on a weekly basis, for over a year, and Reuters just admitted they photoshopped the flotilla photos - they "accidentally" erased the knives out of the "humanitarians" hands. Disclaimer: I'm a Democrat and mostly like Lincoln, except for her resistance to serious healthcare reform.

I think the OP's spin is dead wrong. First of all, she was forced into a runoff primary, and her win there was a squeaker.

Secondly, this is probably the first time a democrat in the south has faced a serious challenge from the LEFT. Traditionally Southern Democrats must move continually to the right to retain their office.

Overall, I think this is a good sign (unlike the GOP fiasco in Utah). Lincoln and her opponent actually ran on issues and had serious discussions. This is what primaries and elections should be about, not knee-jerk anti-encumbant referumdums or speculation about whether the leading female GOP candidate is sleeping around (SC GOP governor primary).

Bullshit, Israel has been murdering Palestinians for years. The IDF admitted it edited videos to make propaganda. Nobody needs to edit out knives. The passengers defended themselves from an Israeli attack. The psychotic, racist hatred of Palestinians by Israelis is vomit inducing.

I called your mercifully EX-Traitor In Chief a traitor, a murderer, a torturer, a war criminal, a liar and much more, and I documented each and every thing I called him with links to credible sources to establish the facts and to applicable legal citations defining the crimes and his entire criminal cabal committed, but I never called anything he wasn't or accused him of anything he didn't do.

I'm just tired of brainless, illiterate jackasses spewing what they think are hot button labels when they don't have a clue what their words mean. I repeat, I doubt that this noob has a clue what the words, "communist," "Communist" or "socialist" mean, let alone the fact that those words mean different things at different times, in different contexts and whether they're spelled with capital or lower case letters. I should have included "Socialist," spelled with a capital "S," as well.

One can only presume that your typical Arkansas democrat is not as liberal as your typical democrat in a blue state. What's surprising here is that Lincoln was nearly unseated by a far left challenger in that state. She is probably more electable than her primary opponent, so this is good for the dems. So far as MoveOn goes, their candidate came within a hair's breath of unseating the incombent, meaning similar challenges in the future have to be taken seriously. Message sent.

(I'm guessing that "communists" believe in group ownership of property and income whereas "Communists" start sentences, but somehow I don't think he'd agree.) I dont know why she is so happy. She will be absolutely slaughtered in November. She has about the same odds of winning as an alien invasion happening tomorrow.
