Del Toro made Blade 2. This one was eh....not bad but not great...lost that refined taste of 2.

I just got back from the screening. Man this movie sucks donkey balls. Felt cheesy from first few minutes. Story tends to jump around and having that Jon Doe guy play the bad guy made it even more retarded.

Bottomline review: It was like watching a bunch of retards trying to hump a door knob.

Glad I got my $24 refunded for this piece of crap film. (paid for 3)

BTW I enjoyed the first two, this one just didn't cut it.

Just got back from seeing it. Overall I thought it was pretty good. On the other hand though, I'm sure that the other 2 films influenced that. I went into blade 1, like everyone else, expecting a pretty cool movie. But that intro scene just blew my mind. The movie could have ended there and i would have been happy. Blade II I expected too much because I had hyped it up from the first movie. So it was a disappointment. It was mildly entertaining but I don't like fight scenes that look blatantly CGed. I can watch cartoons if i want to see that. Blade III i went in kind of apprehensive because of the bad initial reviews and a sour taste from blade II. But I was pleasantly surprised. It didn't blow me away like the original movie, but it was a close second.

Product placement was slightly annoying and some parts were awkward (like they were trying to be funny but it wasnt). Watch the part when blade jumps from the window, lands, and says "forgot my sword." It was supposed to get a laugh i think but i didnt think it was very funny. On the other hand, Ryan Reynolds was fvcking hilarious. I laughed so hard when he said that thing about the garlic fart.

The bad guy was kind of lame but that's been a problem in all 3 movies. I'm sure it must be hard trying to come up with something unique in this kung fu genre. It all kind of follows the same plot as most martial arts/action movies. The good guy kicks ass and disposes of a whole army of bad guys until he meets his match. Then he goes one on one, gets banged around a lot, and finally ends up wounded but victorious. I takes a lot of good acting and creative subplots to distract me from this basic premise. T2 did a good job of it but most movies just stick to the same formula.

saw it last night. i didnt like it much. ryan reynolds probably saved the movie, somewhat, with his humor. HHH should just stick with wrestling. like someone had said earlier, the movie seemed cheesy at the beginning, and sure enough, it was.

No, It was made by another Del Toro. Not Benecio.
Guillermo Del Toro. I think he directed Hellboy too. Has a thing for comic book movies, I guess.

They actually refunded your money?

I find that hard to believe.

Saw it last night.

It felt like a mix of 1 and 2 as far as production style. They gadgets and everything lacked polish and were pretty cliche (sunlight bullets.... )

As far as the story, it was decent. It seems a common theme in blade movies to summon some sort of vampire god to end mankind. Oh well. They took a couple of elements from the first movie and used them in this one.

Overall, it was better than 2 (which I didn't like) but not as good as the first. They have yet to capture the raw style of the first that made it so entertaining.
