i enjoyed Matrix. I enjoyed it because it exceeded my expectations of it quite a bit. i'll never say it was one of the best films ever, and i've seen that by quite a few, but it definitely was better than any expectations i had for it, which i admit were pretty low.

but on the other hand, i also don't expect much from any of your opinions of ANY move. Your the one that criticized LOTR w/o ever reading the books or seeing the movie right?

hehehe. that is considered to be a BASELESS opinion. 🙂

I never critized LOTR. I just said that calling it was the best movie ever made is pretty pathetic😉

Your taste in movies might be a little more understandable if you could cite a few movies that you do like.

The Ladies' Man was hilarious! 😛 Sorry, I have a place in my heart for bad comedies! Anyways, I wasn't thrilled with LOTR either, but I actually slept...I mean sat through it.

Batman (my favorite movie; Nicholsan and Keaton🙂)
The Godfather
The Godfather Part II
Heat
The Hunt for Red October
Shawshank Redemption
Forest Gump
Office Space
American Beauty
Ronin
A Christmas Story
Bad Boys
The Fifth Element
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
As Good as it Gets
Platoon
Full Metal Jacket
Blackhawk Down
Saving Private Ryan

With the exception of Fifth Element and Batman, I tend to go for more realistic/true to life/personal conflict kinda movies.

Some of those are my favs although I thought the whole Batman series of movies (especially with Beetlejuice as Batman) were disappointing.
The reason I like Blade is that I LOVE movies where the good guy kicks ass. The plot was pretty weak but good plots usually get in the way of a good ass kicking movie. (Not always true but a general rule of thumb)

NSF4... well... to each his own... but I liked the Matrix a LOT. MI1 SUCKED (esp. the train scene with the helicopter... ridiculous for a show that is supposed to be fairly "real"). MI2 was better.

Blade was pretty good. I'm psyched to see Blade II... but the premise seems kinda weird.

Oh... and NSF4. 23,600 posts? Jumpin' jackhammers... :Q do you have a job or go to school? 😕 Or do have a computer attached to yer brain and whatever you think becomes a post. 😉 😀

good films there😀

I want to see Blade2 and Spiderman

The Ladies' Man didn't suck ass. It was funny as hell. But then, I'm easily amused.

While I don't agree that the Matrix / M:I / Blade sucked or were boring, they weren't "good" movies in the technical sense. They were entertaining, IMO.

If you want to see a really GOOD movie, go se Amelie. If you dislike that movie I will make an effort to get TONS of respect for you just so I can lose it. 😛

The first one was horrible. I dont think I can subject myself to 2 more hours of it. In fact, I wish I could back the 2 hours from the first one.

Going to see it Saturday, already got my tickets on Fandango. I had other plans this weekend that got cancelled, which I'm pissed about, but at least I can go see Blade 2.

I really liked Blade....I mean it's not a great movie, it's not really even a "Good" movie.

But it's damn sure a "fun" movie.

I expect much the same from Blade II. I'll be there friday or saturday night.

The premise seems a bit weird though...but I guess we'll see what happens.
I do am glad Whistler's back. That guy kicks serious ass.

<-- Seeing it on Saturday.

However, considering that AICN compared the film to having some fat Mexican man perform
oral sex on your vulva leaves me somewhat concerned.

ok, fixed damned link. i've been following that column for quite some time now😛 he's definetly not low brow in taste which makes the review surprising🙂

I would have to say that calling Blade 2 ?good? would be to significantly understate the truth. I really enjoyed Blade, even if it had flaws here and there. But with Blade 2, Guillermo del Toro steps up into the top group of action directors working today. And I?d be the first person to tell you that Mimic was a muddled piece of crap that didn?t work on any level. But add to Blade 2 the high quality, sophisticated ghost story of The Devil?s Backbone and one must conclude that del Toro may be the second best genre director working, just behind Bob Zemeckis, but ahead of Rodriguez and Raimi and in tight competition with Peter Jackson.

I can?t believe I am writing it, but Blade 2 is the first great movie of 2002. Before you all feel compelled to buy tickets, this film is absolutely not for everyone. It is loaded with hardcore violence and a surprising amount of material that is more of the horror genre... which is a del Toro signature, it seems ? mixing genre. He did it with The Devil?s Backbone too? which again, I suggest that everyone who likes genre films sees, if they have a chance.

anyways, its double feature time! Blade 2 and ET 🙂 sweet!

So, tell me, how does Whistler come back?!? 😕

I'll see it one way or another... either in the theater or on DVD.

Ryan
