So...Blackwater.... I'm shocked that no one is discussing about this farce around here.

When our own US armed forces are not even used for protection by our own Government officials, what does this say about our own Government's faith in our own military????!!

Let alone, how has it come to the point that the US has already paid almost $1 Trillion to Blackwater since 2004?!!

Have have we all been so blinded to the fact that so much of our money is going toward waste to Bush/Cheney's private contractors such as Blackwater and Halliburton?!! Where's the pouring of outrage?

It's a BBBBB..Billion. I going to lock this because of the mistake you made in this OP.

According to Polls most Iraqis want them out of Iraq simply because they tend to break all the laws they want and do not get punished for it. They smuggled weapons into Iraq which in the end were sold to insurgents, they fire at unarmed citizens for fun, they race around without paying attention to other traffic, etc.

And especially weapons from Blackwater people ending up in Al Qaida hands should have caused more questions, but still they remain where they are in Iraq, and still they get hundreds of millions for being there.

Indeed. Not even a billion. The total war expenditure has not reached a trillion... yet.

It's just a spin off of the Republican Company Haliburton, no surprise.

You knew when Haliburton got some negative press earlier on how they got so much of the no contract monies that they would spin off names.

Different names, same farce.

Mercs in a combat zone is a recepie for disaster, they don't have the chain of command that Military units do so they basically are all on their own and act like it.

Lets say there is a unit of ten of them and one attack, the normal SOP would be protect, retreat and find a way out. Normally this is how it would work, when it comes to mercs like the blackwater fools, they just fire away and that is about the most stupid thing you can do because if anything, fire draws fire and if you manage to not get yourself and the people you are protecting killed then you are just lucky.

I've been in more than one of these convoys before the 0705 and if i had acted like these blackwater idiots i wouldn't just have been fired, i'd resign before that knowing that something was seriously wrong in my head.

They shouldn't be there at all regardless of their "function".

Send the 900 BILLION dollars my way and i'll provide BETTER protection by not providing any at all, i'm not kidding, hotheads with guns are worse than no protection at all.

A private militia is always dangerous. The notion that blackwater is going to be the US's pet monster is absurd. Kill it before it multiplies is the same post I have made in the past.

If the US fails to act, the international community is going to have to.

We will soon see it for what it is. Terrorism for hire and for profit as international corporation
gain an enforcement arm. Got a annoying government critic, hire an assassin, as they eat the mafias lunch.
