BlackJack vs Roulette

I know blackjack have the best winning odds and I believe Roulette is the worst game you can play. "you cannot beat a roulette table unless you steal money from it" Albert Einstein. With all my respects to the guy but it seems to me I can easily win on roulette than blackjack, and its true I have won more money on roulette than blackjack. I know statistically blackjack is better, but i also believe that the odds depend on the cards left on the deck and how many people are sitting on the table etc..

IMO

Roulette > Blackjack

in blackjack, the best you can do is just double your money. and your actual odds of doubling your money is not 50/50

in roulette, if you choose to try and double your money, your chances of doubling your money, by choosing either a color or odd/even is pretty much 50/50.

lol. pretty much 50/50. I like that thought purbeast0. how good a game is is defined by the "pretty much". you are a programmer, aren't you? you should know this.

You are joking, right? Ever notice those two green spaces labeled 0 and 00?

gotta cover those bastards, hate loosing by bids on the green

it's not about doubling the money, it's about seeing how much of your money you can keep, and put on top of that before walking out of the casino

its about the ratio of what you get if you win compared to what you bet vs the ratio of your odds of winning.

everything in life, not just gambling is based on this.

Roulette odds for betting on red/black (1:1 payout): ~47.3%

Blackjack odds for play basic strategy (1:1, 3:2, 2:1 payout): ~49.5%

So playing Blackjack gives you a better chance of winning. However just remeber the house always wins!

The best odds in the casino are at the craps table. Next up is the Blackjack table. At the far end of the list is the Roulette table.

If you think Roulette is the place to go for good odds, you are an absolute twit. If you enjoy the game, by all means play it, but don't delude yourself about the house advantage...

umm dude ... by 'pretty much 50/50' i mean pretty much 50%, as in ABOUT 50%.

after some simple match, as m4h showed, it is ~47.3%.

sorry mr. precision that i didn't do the exact math for you. yes i was counting in the two green squares. hence why i said 'pretty much' and not 'exactly'.

should i start calling you danny tanner for being so anal?

i personally just enjoy roulette alot more than black jack.

This really isn't correct. There exist single green roulette tables in Vegas (you have to look hard). If you can find one, the player has about the same advantage as they do when playing blackjack.

Also, you have to search the blackjack tables to find one that has rules that favor the player. Otherwise, you might find yourself playing at a table where subtle rule changes cause any player advantage to vaporize.

Read up. Everything you need to know about Roulette.

BTW, Roulette is *not* the worst odds in the casino. Perhaps it is the worst of the table games, but video slots are generally set lower than Roulette. Keno is also not a game to play if you like to keep your money. Except for those pesky green 0 and 00s Roulette is an even money game. You average 36/38 = 94.74% return for the game, which isn't great but better than a lot of bets you can make.

Maybe it's just because i like rolette or something but in real life blackjack hand is usually $5 and thats about 30s of playing roulette with $5 you can play long and you add up the chances of winning i guess.

Hmm let's see, you play 5 hands of Blackjack and 5 bets of roulette:

To win 5 times straight at

Roulette by betting on red/back: 47.3% * 47.3% * 47.3% * 47.3% * 47.3%= 2.37%
Blackjack by playing basic strategy: 49.5% * 49.5% * 49.5% * 49.5% * 49.5% = 2.97%

So I don't get how you can make more money by playing roulette over blackjack with same number of tries.

all i was saying is that playing $5 in the roulette table can last longer and be more fun than playing one hand of BJ . I got your point tho I wasn't really looking for the statistics.

at every casino i've ever been to, if it's a $5 table the minimum you can put out on the table for a single spin is $5, so if you meant that you can play longer because you can split up the $5, you are wrong...no matter how you look at it, blackjack gives you better odds
