Blackberries are good for emailing (the wide format ones).
The software though is an absolute piece of crap!

😕 The interface and the reliability of its push email technology are the main reasons for Blackberry's success.

And stay away from Verizon and/or Sprint if this is for business use.

Why? Verizon has the best coverage available. 😕

Go with a Pocket PC.

Mine is Nextel which is now part of Sprint. No complaints at all. And I have a PPC too.

I hate blackberries. I simply can't get them to work right. Anyone having luck with theirs and just regular pop3? Seems like it only worked with a dedicated server.

Why would you get a Blackberry if you weren't going to use push email?

How can you not get it to work right? 😕

I have been using my new Blackberry 8700g on Tmobile for a few days now..

Amazing.
Edge data speeds on the internet are NICE. Hooking it up as a tethered modem, I can get ~18kb/s download speeds, whereas GPRS was about 4kb/s.
The keyboard is pretty good, MUCH better than my old 7100t. I don't like suretype.
The screen is the best I have ever seen on ANY mobile phone. Auto-adjusting brightness.
Reception is EXCELLENT. Battery life is great, better than my 7100.
VERY VERY Fast. Using my 7100t w/ OS 4.1 was a dog. The 8700 never flinches.

WTF? The 'software' (OS) is the best thing about Blackberry. It's stable, quick, and everything is so well integrated.

Unless you mean software like games, mp3, video players, etc, then yeah, it sucks... but it's not meant for those.
