I sold my iPhone and bought a Bold 9900, I read up on it and found a way to install app world apps without BIS. I don't care about BBM & push mail so it sounds good. But what I thought about since I've ordered the phone is about apps that use data. I Googled this but didn't see much. Without the BIS plan I'm assuming apps that use data, like for SMS or something aren't going to work. Is this correct?

Correct (except SMS will work but MMS probably won't). Unless you can find a hacked service book for that handset, which if you loaded it, would make data connection works (browser, apps, etc). BBM and push mail obviously still won't work.

Hummm maybe I should just switch to Simple Mobile they're the only MNVO I've found that offers a Blackberry plan. Hacked service book should be pretty easy, but maybe doing things the right way would be beneficial lol. My service is Airvoice (AT&T) and the phone's T-Mobile so I'd only get EDGE any ways, which is crap for internet.

Simple Mobile runs on T-Mobile network, so it would work perfectly with your handset. I think the Blackberry plan is $50/month.

T-Mobile prepaid also has an option to add BIS as a $10 add-on to its Monthly 4G plans (any $30 and up plans with unlimited data). So if you want BIS this is an option as well.

Some apps will work fine. The browser works ok, SMS will work. However, you won't be able to receive email, and some apps integrate directly with BIS (Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare come to mind). Those won't work.
