Blackberry Bold help

Hello there,

I'm having some problems with my Bold as it is not recognizing my sim card.. I tried inserting my friends SIM card ( which work son his phone ) but it doesnt work on my Bold which leads me to think that there's somethings wrong with my hardware... I spoke to AT&T and they said they'd replace it with a refurbished phone since my phone is only 4-5 months old and is within warranty. My question is, does anyone have experience with this? Are the refurbished phones truly in good condition? I don't want to replace my 4-5 month old phone with a 1 year old phone!!

Seperately, she told me that my other option was to contact Blackberry directly and get them to fix it for me.. Anyone gone this route and do they charge for it?

Any comments/feedback would be appreciated.

100% of refurbished phones are inspected for functionality. That's a lot better statistic than the 1% or less of new phones that are inspected. If they 'fix' it for you, they are just going to send a refurb as well.

Your best bet is to use AT&T's warranty replacement program. Their refurbished phones are in like-new condition. There look and act just like new devices.

I know it is for blackberry only but I want to tell you tmobile sent me three refurnished sidekick 3 it feels like new no scratch or feel old. It is like you give up brand new 2010 BMW for 2008 BMW but it runs fine right?

depends on the manufacturer.

i myself bought a refurb canon 40D thinking the same thing, turns out me and a rash of people got defective canon 40d Refurbs.
