So managed on to a 03 lancer OZ rally for a silly price $350. PO thought the timing belt had snappped. this is its rebuild thread all in one place the car is now done and only took me 3 days im kinda excited!
on tow truck back to my shop.
Off the truck and into the shop this how i got the car non running and looking like crap
First start the engine pulled apart the timing cover to find all the teeth on cam in place and good and some tension on the belt so it had not snapped.
on the crank side the teeth had stripped off. being and interferen
a 20 credit at autozone and a new timing belt was $9.99 i took a chance on the valves not being bent retimed the engine and spun it over and was no binding. so i went ahead and tried to start it. went a little like this http://youtu.be/lIYydDeBDTQ
I there was a nasty exhaust leak i wasnt aware of it before so i welded it back together sadly i was under the car i just didnt take any pictures but ugly welds and stock exhaust not much to see.
not that the mechanical seemed to be sorted out onward to the Faded and pink car and damage. i did a test spot to make sure it would buff back to proper color. see if i could save it instead of doing a full paintjob. thankfully it came back to full luster
Now that the body could be saved the front and rear bumper had been done by a parking lot body man the color was way to dark and was peeling off everywere for the car to look its best i needed to repaint them. in primer
