You will kill us all! But seriously, when you no longer post here.... we know why🙂

News report reads:
"Man and wife killed after seemingly raising black widows as pets, and "growing" many of them into adulthood." After stumbling around in a drunken stupor, the male victim accidentally broke open multiple "cages"(jars) and the widows commenced their attack after their fortunate escape. There are, and will be no survivors.

I'm killing this thread since Momma' Widow died.

Not asking the mods to kill it, just keep it open until I post more pics of the younglings and I'll link it to this thread 🙂

Wow, didn't see this until now. You are more than welcome to come to my house and take every last one of these bastards before I kill them all. :| Spiders suck.

Edit9--- (8/26/08) The momma' Widow is dead. It looks as though she died naturally. I found her in her web just hanging there normally like she always did. Did'nt know she was dead until a couple hours later when I opened the cage to feed her 🙁
Well, no worries, I've got 4 healthy babies that are getting bigger. I'll take some pics when they double in size 😉 .......... Oh, The new egg sac has yet to hatch, but I'm not sure it was fertile to begin with. We'll see.

The four horsemen of the apocalypse cometh. You've witnessed their first victim.

Next thread he starts will read "HELP ATOT GOT BIT BY A SPIDER WHAT SHOULD I DO!?!?!"

Actually, I have been bitten by a spider, just not sure if it was a Widow.
I was feeding diff. types of spiders in my garage about 10 years back including many black widows, and later that evening I was throwing up and had flu like symptoms. It was'nt 'till the next morning I noticed a bite on the side of my right calf while taking a shower. It hurt to the touch and was dark red.

From the bite was a dark red vein that traveled up across the back of my knee and up the inside of my leg. Had to be blood poisoning. I was watching it carefully and if I got any worse, I would've gone to the hospital.

I was fine later that night, and all the symptoms went away by the next day.

I was bit by a spider in June of '04. Gave me Cellulitus and some other nasty skin infections.
Death to spiders from above.

And people thought I was crazy for having three constrictors in my apartment...

Some really crazy people have poisonous snakes in their homes. Dangerous, but the odds of them getting out of the cage are very small. If you keep "hots", chances are that you have a good idea of what you're doing and have secure cages inside a secure room.

Some completely batshit crazy people keep small, venomous insects (arachnids, I know) in their homes. Insects that can squeeze through a PINHOLE and get free and are so SMALL that you'd never notice them in your shoe or sitting on your toothbrush.

People who choose to endanger themselves, that's their choice. But with so many tiny little poisonous insects that can easily escape and not be found, you're endangering your neighbors. I doubt you live in the middle of Montana somewhere, 5 miles from the nearest neighbor.

I hope your toys don't kill any innocent bystanders. Great pics though.

I found a baby widow outside of my house yesterday! I sprayed it with killer and got the mama as well! I don't usually kill spiders, but I really hate Black Widows!!

Remind me not to trade with the OP. I'd be too afraid to open the friggin' box.

Note taken 😉
(now where did those "No Spiders Inside" labels go?!?

i think you need a double checked stamp to go with that too 😉

So you're keeping the male and female from the same egg together. Are you trying to encourage some twisted form of spider incest here?

Maybe if he posted :camera:'s of the spider sibling-on-sibling action, interest in the thread would skyrocket.

Update bump

did you really get bit?

:music: Mammy, my little Mammy, I'd walk a million miles for one of your smiles my Mammy! :music:

I've only been bitten once and it ranged from a fever overnight, to feeling fine in the morning. Not from this batch. It was years ago.

I suppose that's how it goes. Well, we'll see anyway.
I got 5 eggs out of the first female and I said I had 4 Widows! Might be 5 soon, not sure yet.
