Black & White 2?

The original B&W was pretty addicting. I was on that game for awhile. Any idea how B&W2 differs? worth getting? graphics cleaner?

danny~!

I heard they really screwed the pooch on the 2nd though.... If you really liked the original you might like the 2nd still. I've never played it so I don't have personal experience though.

its been out for like a year now...

anyway, i have it. its a lot more rts/sim city type of game than the original. you can pretty much let your pet go on his own once you teach him a few things. making sure your people and cities are happy will take 90% of your time. build some walls and enemies stay away for the most part.

reviews said it was meh
i was burned by black and white 1 and all its hype. so i'm really soured on the series

Black and White 2 was, IMO, what B&W should have been, and as such it was enjoyable for a time, but got old fairly quickly, a bit like B&W.
It could be called more B&W 1.5 than 2, as it was almost more of the same, with slight improvements.
If you REALLY loved B&W, and it's reasonably priced somewhere, it might be worth picking up.

Do yourself a favour and don't bother. It's basically reduced to Sim City because the creature and enemy AI is so bad. Veer from the script set by the developers and the game breaks. In one session, the enemy creature was stood in the same place for approx 15 minutes, WTF. Then there were all the other bugs. There's no challenge whatsoever.

It didn't hold my attention for long, as it was more of a bland RTS than anything else. I was hoping the creature part of it would be flushed out more, instead they watered it down even more and could have completely removed the creature from the game.

I liked B&W2, but the lack of custom scenarios and multiplayer support do limit its replayability. You'll enjoy playing through it the first time though.

Its ok for a while

My biggest gripe about it is how training the creature is easy now, when you teach him something you get a bar which says how often he should do it or not. Basicly should he eat people, all the time (to the left which is always the evil thing to do) all the way to never. You get this bar with everything he does and you can even view them all in your creature info window. A bit dumb, I liked the b&w way when you didnt have a clue what was happening 🙂

B&W was a great game but got frustrating, old, and hard really fast. IMO B&W2 improved on pretty much everything and was what the original should've been. However, once I got to the next to the last level (the beaches), I STILL got tired of it and stopped playing. I guess the SIM/RTS style got old.

Don't buy it, if you did return it before you open it. If you already opened it, you're f<>cked. It sucks. Someone just gave me the expansion pack as a gift - haven't even opened that even thought I want to see a giant turtle.
