They're hard to see, but when I view an 100% white background, they are completely visible. It's not something I can create a screenshot of, and it would be extremely difficult to take a photo of, so I decided to mockup the problem in photoshop.

If my monitor were on a totally white background, this is what it would look like:

I've been cleaning my monitor recently... I haven't applied to much pressure to it, have I? Is there anything I can do to fix it? With the monitor turned off, there aren't any noticeable spots or blemishes. I think something's wrong with the pixels. It hasn't been there for long, will it go away by itself? Anything I can do? This is a new monitor, I don't want it to have problems already. :(

Thanks.

Edit: I guess it's possible that they've been there for a while, and I just haven't noticed. I've only had the monitor for a few months.

I got one of those on my Dell 17" UltraSharp, when it was powered off I tried scraping a bit of cruft off of it. I didn't realize it would leave a spot.

Interestingly, on my 32" LCD HDTV, I cannot see the smudges in that image, although I can on my 26" KDS LCD monitor.
