Black/Silver Combo

Does anyone have pictures of an aluminum case with black drives? I recently bought a modded version of the PC-65 from Lian-Li and was wondering if black drives would look good as a contrast. Its cheaper than silver painted drives 😉

I don't have a digital cam, but my comp case is a metallic silver and I have a black CDRW, Blueish-black rheobus.. looks good, I kinda like the contrast. 🙂

There's a picture of my pc70 with black dvd- and cd-rw drives here. Not the best shot of it but should give you an idea of how it looks.

I really like the contrast too, looks better than with beige drives and in a way better than silver would too I think. Nice with a little contrast to all that alu 😉

I have a PC-60 Lian Li and I have black drives. One Hitachi GD-8000 Black DVD, Black Plextor 48x CD-rw, Black 3.5", and a Black Zip 250. I never use the Zip 250 it just looks cool in there. The contrast is awesome. I have a NEC LCD 18" Black, Klipsch 5.1s, Keytronic LT Designer Black Keyboard, Photosmart 7350 Printer (Black and Silver) and I would have to say my system is visually VERY appealing.

Black drives LOOK GREAT!!!!!! in the silver aluminum case, PM with you email and I will send you a high res pic.

You might want to consider stealthing your drives (like shady said). I did this with my pc-65 and liked the way it turned out.

I've got a silver chieftec case, with a black DVD drive, CDRW, Floppy, and Rheobus. I Liked the way it looked, but I had to spray paint the remaining bay covers black so they matched. I definately like the way it looks, and its much easier buying black drives than silver ones, and painting them is not as hard as it sounds if you want a differant. Just go light and do multiple coats, I ruined an old zip drive face plate practicing because I was putting it on heavy, and it doesn't stick well to plastic.

Here's a link to my Coolermaster ATC-201SX with black drives. Just ignore the student loan envelope, I do. 🙂 I plan on getting a black rheobus to fit below the floppy and put black aluminum plates below the 2 optical drives. My wallet just hasn't gotten around to it yet. 🙂

I think it's simple enough to pop off the drive plates and spray paint them silver. I haven't done that to my beige drives on my silver casing. Gotta find that can of paint first 😛

I did a black carbon fiber mod on my Lian Li case. The carbon fiber look is cool, I think black would look cool also. If you want ill send you pictures.
