Evidently the latest AMD CCC Drivers do not recognize and load your 2nd 290 or 290X at times - Result BLACK Screen.
Devise Mngr sees the 2nd GPU and Cold ReBoot !!!!!
FIX: Toggle Crossfire DISABLE and ENABLE in CCC with every session to mark the secondary driver and ensures it loads.
Be assured your 2nd Card is not DEAD ;o)
